We'll call that a "maybe" from the Jackets; Coyle might be the sort of vet we could use more of but I'm not yet certain. (I'm just kind of personally tunnelvisioned towards finding a second-pairing blueliner with the flexibility we have... smile )

Important to note: we won't have that 2nd round pick. That's the conditional 2nd that'll swap with Philly for this year's, and transfer 2025's to Philly. So unless we want to give up this year's 36OA pick...

I'd much rather be a team getting assets to retain on Coyle to ship him to a contender than be the team paying to acquire him. He's great, but he just doesn't fit CBJ's needs/timeline.

Are we sure that Elias is a big enough upgrade over Coyle to commit to him until he's 36? I think if you can get Guentzel to commit to that contract, you do it for sure.

i don't disagree with you, i think lindholm is a great 2nd line center and probably not a first line center but his ceiling offensively is probably higher than Coyles so i could see them taking a run at this. unless you can somehow work a top line center into a trade involving ullmark.

I do think we need more glue guy leadership types, and I suspect he might be able to fill such a role; that's pretty much the beginning and end of any interest I would have in him. If he doesn't have that, I don't have the interest.
