Change the 1st to this year's pick and Calgary considers that otherwise they still might consider something similar a few months into the next season. Also I don't think Sharky can sign an extension until July 1st which is after the draft on June 28-29.

That is way too much for 1 year of Brock Nelson. If someone else will pay that then great, but I sure hope Boston wouldn't. He is also 32, so his next deal is not going to be fun to negotiate. A lot of risk involved since he could fall off in the next 3 seasons but is still skilled enough to undoubtedly want 5-6 more on his next deal.

Thats why I put the 25 first... Probably not realistic to happen after the draft but you never know.

I should have wrote it in but I would assume that the trade would also come with a reasonable 2-3 year extension at like 5.5 per

I would gladly trade Beecher + a 1st + a 4th for 3 years of Nelson at 5.5m. I don't think he would accept that kind of contract, but if he would then I think the trade is reasonable.

Bruins have had one 1st round pick in 4 years. This year will make it five. They aren’t going to make it six years with only one first round pick for Brock Nelson.
