Toronto counters with a 5th and Nick Robertson for Panarin. No way we're sending Marner out and taking those players back. Sheesh

Also the Markstrom trade is horrific. A first and Lily for a 34 year old goalie

It's about filling the holes in the lineup. Think about how much we can get for $10.9M. That's Domi + Bertuzzi, or could be a pretty solid D pairing.

Age is a number. Markstrom is better than anyone currently in our system. Also, retention.

Trouba at any mount of money is a negative asset. Why pay a first to retain when you can sign a RD out of FA at half the cost to be MORE effective?

Trouba is not a negative asset. An offensive black hole sure, but he can defend, move pucks, and brings violence. Also, where is Goodrow here?

Saw the same trade 5 times but with Goody. My bad.

Trouba can't defend, either. He was on one of the best teams in the league on the 2nd pairing and his defensive metrics were hot garbage. If Toronto wants a big, hard hitting RD just give Hakanpaa like 2m out of FA. Skip overpaying for bum Trouba

That is nowhere near enough for CHI to retain $4M x 2 years on Trouba, let alone take on Kampf's contract too.

Money you're not spending, and Kampf is even better than Jeremy Bracco.

By "you're" do you mean me personally, or the Chicago Blackhawks?

CHI would absolutely be spending $3M x 2 years, if they were to retain 50% of his contract this summer.

Think of it as a retainer on Bedard's future extension.

Keep fantasizing about how every player wants to play in Toronto so badly they'll sign for peanuts and rival GMs are lined up waiting for the chance to take your trash for w/e you want to steal.

Quite obviously you don't have a clue what irony is. That is ironic.
