I'm sure several other Anaheim fans will come on here not wanting Kampf, but I'm interested in him. Yeah, Toronto can't afford his services, but the Ducks can.

It’s an upgrade over Lundestrom and could be a fine 4th liner.

Can I ask why? He’s 100% not a 3C, and $2.9M over 3 years for a 4C just seems silly. We can afford him, but I don’t think we should. Especially that third and final year hitting when every ELC we have will be on a contract

Columbus is definitely not spending assets on replacement level players.

His cap hit is 2.4 and he's got significantly better defensive analytics than Lundestrom. He's tough to play against as well. There's a reason he got that contract to get a bottom 6 role. Yeah, probably overly rich contract, but not by that much. He's a viable bottom 6 upgrade.

That’s well put. I don’t personally think the money should be spent on a 4C with term right now though. We aren’t going to be pushing for the cup to make it worthwhile, so I’d personally rather see the spot be filled either more affordable or more strategically (like giving Gaucher a look). But see your point at least. If it had 1 less year on it that’d be more palatable as well

I think if his contract became a cap issue for us before it's over then Verbeek went nuts with spending. Even for McTavish and Leo I think they get 2-3 year bridge deals because that's just the way Verbeek operates.
