Description
He's a bum for not signing. Just because of this Cristall becomes the top prospect. At this point, he can stay all 4 years and go somewhere else and I'd be fine with it. (I'll definitely change my mind in like 2 weeks)

I know this is a joke post but if you were to actually trade Leonard you could get a better player than Zegras. I like Zegras but his value is way down.

I imagine college hockey players are being paid now like football and basketball?

Expect to see more players stay an extra year

it's only partly a joke. I'm actually quite disappointed that the kid might be choosing to stay, especially when the BC team is going to be worse next season.

Boston College is notoriously stingy with NIL, I doubt there's much monetary pull.

None of the Freshmen are reportedly leaving BC. Give Leonard another year. We aren't going to win the cup this year and we do not need to rush Leonard.

The only one I think should leave BC right now is WIll Smith. The Sharks could use him a hell of a lot more than the Caps can use Leonard or the Rangers could use Gabe

The sharks should want everyone to wait. Pushes 2nd contracts down the line when the retention and vlasic are gone

Thats true, but I do not believe Smith needs more time in the NCAA. He would develop better playing with the Sharks at this point

Any belief that Zegras is a distressed asset is misguided fantasy. He's been scoring at his expected rate since returning from injury, and that's including the couple of games it takes to knock the rust off, and has been centering the 2nd line in that time.

I wouldn't say NHL ready as in step in and light it up. But I would say NHL ready where he could play in the middle 6 and develop his game against the best talent in the world

That BC team is still stacked with talent, especially with some of the incoming freshmen. If Lenny wants to stay for at least another year let him, there's no rush to bring him in for a team that's such a longshot to win in the playoffs.

They also need to make the playoffs next season too, Leonard needs to think long and hard about wether a natty would be more important than a run at the Calder in a weaker Calder class and a real playoff push with a better caps team next season

This. He’s been a point-per-game C since returning, and still reportedly isn’t 100% with the ankle. I totally think Leonard would be a discussion-worthy trade for Zegras, especially with Cutter here. But I’m not at all convinced ANA would pull trigger on it, and really don’t picture WAS wanting to at all
