Of course it’s a Blues fan doing an Avs ACGM and doing a trade like that. But trust me when I say under no circumstances is COL going to take Krug off of your hands and send back Byram and Colton.

Genuine question. Are you saying that the Aves wouldn't take this?

I had to see if it would work with Avs cap with or without Nuchushkin in the line up. Yes Avs take Krug here but also getting quite a haul of cheap/productive forwards, picks, and decent prospect. Was just messing around. It's not going to happen but it does make some sense for your team whether you like it or not...

How do you figure that? Colton is younger, producing more in less ice time than Hayes. Krug is appreciable worse older and more expensive. Bolduc isn’t anything special and the draft picks yeah don’t care about that. The ONLY way COL parts with Byram is for a legitimate team controlled similar aged 2c. Buchnevich is great but Krug is equally awful. Bad deal for COL all day.

Ahhh - capfriendly only truth holds that fans will always be bias to their own players and never even bother to factor how the trades help their own teams...

I guess I am confused on how you could dismiss Bolduc two 2nds and a 3rd as not having value. Not defending the deal, but Bolduc still has solid middle six and fringe top 6 potential and two 2nds and a 3rd is good draft capital for any team.

Not to mention Hayes at $1.7M, Sunny at $775k, and Buch at $2.9M. I understand Avs fans not being interested as everyone loves their young players. The deal, while would never happen, makes sense for both parties if give it any thought, but no one on this website ever does.

Ritchie is a better prospect than Bolduc who has what 17pts in 40 games and has one more point in 5 more games than Olausson who was drafted 11 spots after him and whom most fans are intensely disappointed in. How often does a Stanley cup contender get the opportunity to have players like Byram who is cost controlled young and proven he can do it at the highest level. Colton is now younger and better than Hayes, this is such an easy no, you’re downgrading at 2 positions for some non 1st rd picks and a winger that no matter how good he is COL plugs and plays guys like Drouin and Lehkonen and gets winger production. Good teams don’t overpay for non franchise wingers and I don’t think Buch is better than Nichushkin.

I can understand everything here except the last sentence. Buch is better and he is also available to play unlike Nich…

Nichushkin has 8 more pts in 4 less games, and is seriously borderline elite defensively there is a reason the Avs chose him over Kadri. Availability and off ice stability I will definitely give you Buch, but people that down play what Nichushkin does are kidding themselves

It’s debatable who is better but mainly meant that Buch is currently available. Buch also has never gotten to be on the same team as Makar and MacKinnon

Availability is an asset no doubt. But it irks me when the default is they do get to play with M or M but then awards wise it’s used against them.

This isn’t a criticism of you Pl

Krug is straight bad with an awful contract and is a down grade vs Byram. Hayes is a down grade over Colton now. This doesn’t benefit COL at all because it leaves the most glaring holes they have now still, no 2/3c and no back up goal tender. You defending trade you made that clearly benefits the team you cheer for is so disingenuous, COL could so much easier keep Byram and Colton NOT take Krug and just use other assets to fill those holes and not impact their current roster at all. It’s an awful trade just on the basis of swapping Byram for Krug, no amount of window dressing other pieces makes it any better for COL.
