Looking to fill 1RW and 1RD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div> Unless I'm missing something, you don't have a 3RD next season unless you are able to resign Walker, which is a stretch as well if Landeskog is back. Why would Helleson not be able to make the Avs as a 6-7 RHD on an ELC?</div></div>
Avs have Malinski who has played very well for a 1st year pro and fits the Avs system perfectly. He is a lot like Walker without the experience and pk ability( with added weight he'll get there). I think Helleson would be ahead of Clurman on the rd depth charts but would still be behind Behrens, and who ever they bring in as a JJ replacement. I am not against bringing him back, but if he can't get games with the Ducks I stuggle to see him getting called up. It kind of goes back to why he wasn't going to sign with the Avs out of college, there was no route for him to the nhl.
Not sure if you've watched him with the Gulls, does he look a season or two away from being a Manson replacement? That will be a need if Clurman isnt up to it.

On the other hand, if he buys into Bednar's system and starts to click a little bit, then maybe the team has found a third liner for the future. Worth a shot imo, as it's really cap space and the third that are the main return.</div></div>
I would really like to see Krebs be that, but as someone who watches him often, its not there and Beds won't give him the years it may take.

Avs maybe down for this, Krebs wouldnt be a fit but could be flipped in a larger deal. I've liked Wood but it might have been too expensive for too long. I will hold judgement until the offseason

Barron couldn't hack it with the Avs, no take backs. Maybe you can trade for Colton, but you don't have the pieces available to get Mitts

Krebs wouldn't be a fit in the Avs system. He's a little softer and gets lost more often than Jost. He's kind of a high end JLF and that's a bad 4C fit.

rants
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LimeyBarsteward</b></div><div>The FO said they basically pushed over a signed contract to Mac and told him to fill in the amount. He could have received a lot more. See leafs Mac said he was pushed to be the highest paid player (without elaborating) and chose to be just 100k more than macdavids current contract. I don’t think Makar will ask to break the bank and will probably take a discount like he did on his last contract. Weather that’s 12.5 instead of 13 or 13 instead of 15 we will probably never know.
Rants seems to be of the same mind. There will probably be a hometown discount but it could be 11m instead of 11.5 or 13 instead of 14m. They both know Mac took a discount to keep the team together and I would be surprised if they didn’t follow suit.</div></div>
Also our recently extended 1LD Toews!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brett44</b></div><div>For me and i'm Avs Fan i say yes. Armia$+ Trenin $= Colton $+Kirivanta $or every bottom 6 under 1M. Armia play very well this year and I like Trenin game. Kovacevic can help us on 3Rd and we can trade Manson for signing Walker.</div></div>
I think a better and more cost effective rd is Makar, Manson, Malinski than Makar Walker, Kovacevic. If Kovac was a lefty or plays the left well, I'd like him as a JJ replacement. I really like our current rhd option, including Clurman. Manson is much harder the replace than Walker and might even be cheaper. Also as its obvious, I don't want to block Malinski. Little late but I need to watch if Kovac can impact the play like Manson does away from the puck and on the pk.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>Isn't it basically impossible for the cap to reach $100M in two years due to the limit on the maximum percentage it can rise? Isn't that why it's only going up $4M+ next season and then $5M+ the following season? I guess they could amend the CBA or come up with a new one before the old one expires but I am under the apprehension that under the current CBA, they can't just make that jump even if HRR is in line with such a raise.</div></div>
My main hope is because most owners/f.o's also want the cap to go up. Might be one of the few times the league n P.A can find a common goal. I thought the cba was up sooner, this will be interesting to follow and will show what Walsh is worth. I can see a strike or protest if the caps stays 16.5m under what it should be while paying 6% escrow(3%returned) when the league is openly making more than their agreement. I havent read it fully but I would have to assume those caps increase limits has to do with the debt that has been repayed.

I think 2 x high 1st, top goalie prospect, 2nd and Top 5OA RD to match your amazing left D's is value wise faire.
However I said value wise, I totally understand that Buffalo would never do this because it would set them back 3-4 years and after missing 12 years straight the playoffs probably not where you wanna go.
This trade definitely has more value for Montreal In the short term</div></div>
Fowler is legit but you don't trade for him when you have Levi. I see your pov but this does not help the Sabres in any way.

You're right, more of a pipe dream. It will be somebody around 3m.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TJTwolf</b></div><div>100 million would be a big leap from the projections but even without that leap it's eminently possible to keep Rants and field and field a good roster. There's nothing even to say he goes that high either.</div></div>
It is and it isnt. With the league being able to support a 100m cap this season through h.r.r, it would take ending escrow or something major to keep that cap lower than a 50/50 split. So i Made it for a 90m cap just to be safe.

Caveat this comment with the following: IDK what your other conversations were. If someone was saying the team can afford to keep everyone, they are obviously wrong.</div></div>

No doubt it's hard to find a comp, because these guys just don't get traded often. The problem with every prospect is they are unproven prospects and the Avs are in win now mode. Edvi is a cool piece to watch but he isn't in the league yet. You could offer Raymond, Edvi and a 1st and I would say no thanks.
His next deal will be like Nylander or Pasta, but lets just call it 12m. The Avs can easily fit that and roster a cup contender.

I would think we can get both of them for a little under the 4m Colton eats up. I think it would be a drop from Colton to Trenin, but is what it is.
