A big return for Dickinson, but honestly we’ve seen Tampa reach for worse. Hawks could pick up another 24 first from EDM in a cap dump trade.

There’s no way Columbus gives up Johnson for a late 1st and late 2nd

That's easy. Tanner Jeannot. And TBL gave a boat load more too. One of the worst trades in NHL history. Some might argue the worst because TBL gave up a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and a prospect drafted in the 1st. For a guy that's just not that good.

Hawks shouldn't trade for KJ. Just stick to the plan. Keep acquiring picks. We're 2nd to last for a reason. Take the proper time to develop internally. Once other players like KJ aren't panning out...then do a change of scenery trade. Maybe It's Kaapo? Maybe it's Frost? Maybe it's Holtz? Etc...

He's already a 40-point NHL winger and is working on a new position in the AHL, where he has 14 points in 9 games, and has less than 100 games of NHL experience. The "KJ isn't working out" narrative really needs to stop, especially since it's more coach/FO issue than player issue.

You missed the most important parts and just selectively read a quote. Shame on you. He's simply and example of the larger point. Any/all of those players I mentioned could still very well be superstars. Hawks shouldn't be paying up for players currently struggling a bit.

Obviously that was a bad trade for Tampa but that doesn't mean they are gonna do it again. And Jeannot is better than Dickinson. He still fits nicely into Tampa's lineup. It was just an overpay

Lol this is a joke of an offer that gets your number blocked by a GM. kJ has proven he can be a great playmaking winger in the NHL. He’s getting ife time in the AHL at center (and thriving).

Man, shame on you too. People gotta learn to read. Even after explaining...still not able to read, eh? KJ is simply an example of who the Hawks need to keep an eye on, BUT NOT go after. He 100% could be a superstar. For his sake I hope he is. Hawks can't be sending 1sts away for ANY prospects that are struggling to stay in the NHL...and he's not in the NHL for a reason. He absolutely can come back and be a stud! For sure! Just like Kaapo, just like Frost, just like Holtz. They COULD all be studs. Hawks gotta stick to the plan. Keep their 1sts and draft/develop their own talent.

I mean that’s fine but Kent Johnson is worth a lot more than a late first. You’re crazy if you don’t think Chicago would do this trade in heartbeat
