Peeke was among the worst defensemen in the league last season. He won't be playing 1st pairing minutes on any team not to mention a playoff team.

Put him on a real team with an actual defensive system and quality players around him, things will change. Definitely risk involved but he certainly has the upside as a steady, big, physical top 4 D

Retention plus Jarnkrok's contract makes this a hard pass for CBJ. They don't even keep you on the phone long enough to find out which late-round picks you want to send.

He was playing with a better defenseman than anyone on the Leafs but beyond that, what are you basing literally any of that on? He had no sort of success on a bad team, why would he be the one to find it with a change of scene? It's like claiming Sam Carrick isn't a 20 goal scorer only because he's playing for Anaheim. A player doesn't magically become good because he's traded to a better team.
