Wouldn’t count on Gibby going anywhere. If the flames need to move Vladar, they should probably find a different suitor

The jackets trade isn’t terrible value but I wouldn’t want Columbus to do it. Lindholm is gonna get a big contract at 30 years old. With fantilli in the wings I’d rather them get a cheaper C like kuznetsov

His contract combined with last year would have PHI fans offering to drive him to the airport.
----

There's no way WSH goes for that trade.

---
I don't see a need for Mangiapane in MTL, or Vladar in ANA

---
NSH just started their retool, so I'm not sure if Hanifin makes sense for them. I wouldn't be surprised if Nylander ended up there.

Confirmed, wouldn’t drive him to airport, would drive him to Calgary. He’s truly not a bad player the problem is his 8 year contract for a team starting a rebuild

Vladar is worth at most a 5th. Reference Aiden Hill trade as a comparable.

Difference is Aiden Hill is actually a decent goalie.

Vladar is a decent goalie, and he outplayed Markstrom for half of last year. The problem in CGY was good shot suppression combined with a lot of grade A chances against.

I would love to keep him, but Wolf needs an opportunity! If Markstrom didn't have a NMC I'd try to move him instead.

Counting stats and advanced stats for the year disagree with you. Markstrom was by far the better goalie. I even watched a lot of Calgary games last season trying to figure out what was going on. Yeah, Markstrom made some hilarious errors, but he was also playing way better than Vladar. Calgary just seemed to not give a heap about helping him, but played better in front of Vladar.

Vladars making 2 mil against the cap, and his career NHL stats aren't even replacement level. He's frankly not worth taking on waivers.

I think he'll be a .910 goalie next season, after the Flames switch from man defense to zone defense. I don't have a way of proving it, but he has all the right tools, a great mindset, and I like what I've seen from him so far. It could be my rose colored glasses, and goalies are mostly voodoo, but Vladar really seems like a goalie that will take a step in the next two years.

You've made trades to four teams that missed the playoffs. I'm sure they aren't giving up good young assets for upcoming UFAs. Basing trades on extensions....mostly crazy talk.

Washington would far rather just keep the better player in Kuznetsov AND the two (2) 2nds.

NSH has no interest in Hanafin. It isn't that he isn't good, but paying that much for another LD when they already have Josi and McDonagh making up 15mil in cap, they don't need another major signing on the left side, especially with NSH having just signed Molendyk to his ELC, he likely gets the call up in the next in a few years, closer to McDonagh's contract ending. The only player that the Preds might have interest in among the players you have here is Lindholm.

The price is probably fine for nashville since hanifin isnt much older than fabbro and the 1st isnt our own but having 3 LHD that will have a caphit over 6.5 million each (making an assumption hanifin will make more than that on his extension) isnt a great allocation of cap resources. Josi isnt going anywhere and McDonagh is untradable due to his contract.

The only way any sort of Backlund Kuznetsov swap works is if Calgary is adding and not expecting any sort of retention from the caps. Kuznetsov is a better player and they don’t get any cap relief out of this proposed deal.
