Totally fair, I'd like to see him get a (mostly) full year of AHL time, but I do think it would be nice to have him in the NHL for a couple games to see just how far ahead in his development he is. I'd have him over Snively on the left side (maybe with Oshie?) for at least a few games, then give him a couple years of AHL time to get situated. Would all depend on Snively's waiver eligibility I guess, since I get the sneaking suspicion they'll consider running 8 defensemen.

yea would not be opposed to that at all. I feel like I'm higher than most on snively, 11 points in 24 NHL games is pretty good.

I'd like to see him in the NHL full time, but I don't know if he is able to start if the Caps decide to get another top 6 forward. Assuming one of Mantha/Kuznetsov stays, which I would expect to be the case, the open 3rd line spot probably gets filled by MIlano and I'm not sure I like Snively to fit on the 4th line better than Malenstyn (and this issue compounds if Brown comes back).
If orlov comes back wtf we do with alexyev. No way we trade martin Fer right? I’d would think that deal will be done soon with the extension
I don't see a world where Orlov returns so I don't think it's an issue. With the Caps now acquiring Sandin and Haman-Aktell, I think they'd be even less likely to pay Free agent prices and 6+years of term for a 32 year old Orlov when you already have the aforementioned defensemen as well as Fehervary and Alexeyev.

they already have 7d including 4ld, I don't think Haman-Aktell would sign if he wasn't given at least the inside track to the 7d role. They just sent a first to get Sandin and just signed AA and Haman-Aktell, so Fehervary would be the odd man out if they decided to bring back Orlov. I see almost no world in which that happens unless they could get a significant return for MF -- like Laf, Vilardi, Krebs, Rossi level
If Halpern is our coach. How do you think that will go
Halpern’s been my guy for a couple months now, I think he’s the best fit here (with no disrespect to Carbery). He’s learned under one of the NHL’s best coaches for years, is familiar with some of the core players which allows him to lean on them to start his tenure, and in terms of marketing being a local boy is an extra positive. He also ran the 3rd best power play in the NHL, which would be a nice change of pace from Forsythe.

Yeah, his PP was 25.4% this year, and I think he'd be able to reimagine the Power play in a way Forsythe couldn't (or refused to). Plus, hard to pass up on a head coach who's from Potomac MD and assisted on Ovi's first two goals in the NHL (even if the former player route hasn't been as fruitful in the past)

I'm definitely still 50/50 between Carberry and Halpern, although I would lean Halpern with his greater experience working with NHL players. I was really hoping the Leafs would lose in the first round again and move on from Keefe, but I doubt that happens unless FLA sweeps them lol. Really want to avoid Sutter, Gallant (who I assume will be moved on from), and Babcock but everything GMBM has said so far makes it seem like that's the case
How much would you pay for Trent Fredric and Hall cost.
I think we should invest in that package
2nd rounder for hall -- boston is in a massive cap crunch and taking him off their hands would be a huge boost. he's also on the older side and not quite as game-breaking anymore as some of the other potential options
frederic I would stay away from. He has good underlyings but like all of BOS broke out this year because of an insane oish% and oisv%. prime recipe to overpay both in acquisition cost and contract. Additionally caps already have a ton of guys who play his role -- NAK, Protas, Malnestyn, Snively, etc. need to focus on adding truly high end guys rather than more depth

Personally I would target Trent. He could mentor Wilson and I think it would payoff well. Would work well with Dowd imo.
Panarin intrigues me for sure. Expensive, but would be a great fit. Can’t see him being available
yea NYR do seem like they're always on the verge of doing something incredibly stupid. even if they did want to move him i doubt he would waive to go anywhere
