It’s gonna take a severe overpay for Verbeek to move Zegras.

The Gibson trade doesn’t make sense for either side. Columbus moving out a goalie contract with premium assets to bring in a slightly better goalie with a moderately larger contract just doesn’t really make sense.

I was going to say this as a hot take. So yeah: hot take, Gibson is worse, older, and much more expensive. The only year Gibson has beaten Elvis in GSAx since Elvis entered the league was 2022-23, a massive outlier on Elvis' career and universally recognized as one of the worst goalie seasons in recent memory.

I wouldn't trade them 1 for 1. The fact that CBJ are adding essentially 2 1sts is laughable and absurd.
