Regardless of ownership's stance on retention, you can only retain on 3 contracts meaning at least one of those firsts has to be 2025 as the trade would happen after the draft.

I'd rather trade Vladar and keep allen as a mentor. I think NJ would be fine with Schmid as backup if they had Makrstrom

What do you think MTL would want for their 1st? They'd be using that pick to get a winger and would be getting 2 in this trade, Kuzy is a top 6 winger right now and coronato has the potential to become one as well.
