Description

Karlsson wants to go to a contender... Seattle is one of the only playoff teams who actually has the Cap space to take on the full contract. I have ZERO idea on what is appropriate compensation to San Jose, but I would think this package would be reasonable.

Remaining 6mil in Cap is for remaining roster spots for players more or less on league min.

Massive overpay.

Dunn and Wright have more value then EK at 11.5 mill.

Even if Sam jose regained his contract to 7.5 mill you still probably wouldn’t get much more of a return then what Provorov got.

Have to agree with everyone on here, Karlsson just had a career year and will probably have a solid season next year, but he has risk. if you take him zero retention, max return will probably be a 23 2nd and a cap dump.
at 3 mil retention (where I think we end up having to be) 23 1st 23 2nd and wennberg or Driedger (for cap reasons) and maybe Geekie.

At the end of they day the return is going to be very underwhelming for the sharks unless they go full 50% retention. And that’s a tough one to pull off.
