Offseason
No chance Canucks give a 1st and 2nd to not save any cap room.
As bad as Ilya's season was he still put up more points then Kampf or Jarnkrok in a season which he was returning from a major knee injury. Canucks decline.

After losing game 7 II
Few things.. Detroit isn't trading Raymond for Demko with Cossa and Augustine in the pipeline.
Isles will decline that trade as Casey is 2.5 million cheaper with similar production to Ilya.
I will say this to you and everyone else. Trading a 25 year old 50 point dman that cost a 1st and 2nd round pick with no organizational depth behind him is dumb.
Replacing him with two guys who can't equal his point total combined for 5 million each with one of them being 35 in december is even dumber.
I'd be stunned if Lindholm signed for anything less then 6.5+.
Way too much money for Silovs. As well as he's played he has less then 20 games of NHL experience and doesn't have a lot of arb rights. He'll likely come in around a million bucks.

"Only plays 30 games a season" no, that's Dach, this is Zegras first season with any injuries.
+- isn't an individual stat and he's not the biggest offender on his team every year even amongst forwards, so implying that that means something is crap.
You're so full of it your eyes are brown bud.</div></div>
Well my eyes are naturally brown because that's the color they were when I was born so I can't help that.
However that doesn't take away that Zegras one of the worst faceoff guys in the league. He's also awful defensively which is backed up by his plus minus at the fact he surrenders the 2nd most chances per 60 at 5v5 on the Ducks. This is all despite the fact that he's given sheltered minutes by the coaches with 73% of his starts are in the offensive zone.
The coach shelters him, his GM doesn't want to give him the big bag but go ahead and keep thinking he's awesome just because he pulls off the Michigan once every few years. Maybe my eyes are fine and you should check your since they are clearly affected by the fan boy goggles you're wearing.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GeneralLandro</b></div><div>Why you so in the ‘cautioning’ people on Z? lol</div></div>
Because he's horrible defensively. He doesn't give a lot of effort when the Ducks don't have the puck and he is routinely on the list of overrated players when voted on by his peers.

fantasy land
You titled it right because the Jets deal is pure fantasy land. You even stated why I would say there is no chance the Jets do that deal. Norris would be a massive risk for any team to count on especially giving up a guy like Ehlers even with only 1 year remaining.

Because they're in different years. Montreal needs a 2024 pick, having traded away the two they have right now. And third and fifth overall in this draft plus two firsts in 2025 is likely to turn out better than three 2024 picks (the last of which is probably going to be #29, #31 or #32) and our own in 2025.</div></div>
Alright, fair enough.

I disagree he is a Cap Dump, teams were calling on him this TDL but Montreal had little reason to move on from him with 1 year remaining and our Defense group being young. Serving as a mentor for 1 more year, then flipped at this TDL. Savard for whatever reason has a bad reputation amongst some, he is still a very valuable player and the type you want in the playoffs.
If you don't want him,i understand, just disagree with the terminology and the idea that I was adding negative value, to me, hes positive value in any deal. to that we can disagree with eachother.</div></div>

Marner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VGKNation702</b></div><div>Vegas isn’t adding Roy. He’s too valuable at his salary. The only way a Marner to Vegas trade happens is if it’s one for one with Theo with Marner retained. The undervaluing of him and over valuing of Marner on this site is hilarious.
Regular season points mean nothing to me. Marners numbers significantly dip in the playoffs. Him and Theodore basically have the same amount of goals and the same amount of games. Except one is a defensemen. They are the same age and both need a new contract, the differences point per game defenseman that can move the puck. Something leafs lack outside of Reilly.</div></div>
I just mean I don't hate for you guys because if there is a team that has enough depth on D to lose a Theodore in the Knights. But I get your points.

Not good but I'd still rather pay EP40 11.6 who's put up 102 and 89 points the last two years and who actually isn't a -25 every year then a guy who's getting 5.75 to play 30 games and who is routinely ranked as the most overrated player in the NHL by his peers.

Panthers are in their contention window for the next few years. I doubt they'd part with Lundell for futures.
2nd trade seems like you are swapping extra first round picks for nothing. Why not eliminate one first round each side? Either way I'd caution anyone buying Trevor Zegras.

Good deal for both teams but man I'd hate to give that Devils team Ullmark. They could be scary good with that level of quality goal tending.
Not sure if the Devils need to give up a third when you are getting essentially 2 firsts in that deal already.
I'm not a huge Wennberg guy so I'd be reluctant to give him that kind of money.

Liljegren is not getting you a 2nd and 4th round picks.
He's a part time player on a team who's defense is suspect at best.
It's been 7 years since he's been drafted. The shine of being a first round pick has worn off.

No chance Montreal does the Barron deal. A former first round pick in his own right who's about to be a full time NHLer.
If I'm the leafs I 100% do this deal. Theodore can play left or right side and you get Roy who can play 2nd or 3rd line center.
I don't even hate this deal for the Knights but Marner would have to sign an extension.

While there is no debating Matheson is a very very good player I can't see the Canucks making this trade.
Matheson is great and productive on Montreal because he is their #1 defensemen. However on the Canucks he would be a clear second option, be relegated to PP2 behind Hughes and wouldn't be able to produce at near the level he does for the Habs. On top of that your asking the Canucks to take on cap dump and give up 2 prospects and 2 very high draft picks.
I think the Canucks would pass.

Liljegren has been putting up great numbers for years and is 25. He has his warts but he's great at getting out of his zone and driving the puck in the right direction. He looked great when given the opportunity on PP 1 last year before Rielly came back.
The odds of a #40 pick being a good RHD who is a valuable option on the PP is pretty low. They have a 40%~ chance of even making the NHL.</div></div>
They have more young defensemen then just the guys on their current roster like Simashev, Lamoureux, Söderström, and Duda.
They also could, as you have for you leafs, sign a player to fill the gaps. Rebuilding teams don't usually give up high draft picks unless it's for an impact player which Liljegren isn't.
