Stone Cold Deal
Or we can just wait until Stone reached UFA next summer instead of giving up a potential 30 goal per year young scorer....

Please give me an explanation as to why Montreal, a clearly rebuilding team would trade for Seabrook? Even if he was to waive a trade, and the hawks were able to find a partner Montreal would be the last place he'd say yes too and the last team that would give up assets to acquire him.

Lets not forget how the Hawks finished in the lottery last season. Nylander may make them better, but the idea of being like Ottawa and giving up an unprotected potential lottery pick is not good

Not saying they wouldn't sign him but its probably going to cost around 4 mil to sign him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HawksFan28</b></div><div>Eh, he probably will - but he is a Chicago guy, perhaps he would take a little less for an opportunity to play with his home town team - that or incentives/bonus' can always be included in the contract....
As far as trading away next years first........ Well under this scenario the Hawks will be drafting twice in this years draft at #8 and #12 so I figure taking 2 guys in this years super deep draft would justify trading next years first round pick.... I mean that was my logic at least...... And if it gets us Faulk I think it would really be worth it because Faulk is only 26 or 27 I think so he still has some miles left on him -- and he would be an immediate help on the blue line too and that is exactly what the Hawks need. So with that said I think moving next seasons first round pick is worth it.</div></div>
Bonuses can only be included in an entry level deal or a 35+ contract buddy

Good stuff man. John Moore will definitely get more than that though money wise. I would also be iffy about trading the Hawks first rounder for next year after this season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>babouie</b></div><div>HE IS 27 YRS OLD AND A UFA ONCE IN HIS PRIME . JUST CURIOUS WHY WOULD HE SIGN FOR LESS YRS ?? HE OWES THE HAWKS NOTHING . HE WONT SIGN FOR LESS THEN SIX YRS ON HIS NEXT CONTRACT NOT AT HIS AGE . YOUR GIVING THE EXTRA YEAR TO BRING DOWN HIS CAP NUMBER , THIS IS COMMON PRACTICE WITH UFA SIGNINGS AND BRIDGE YEAR CONTRACTS . YOU WANT TO GIVE SHORTER TERM FANTASTIC NP HIGHER CAP NUMBER COMES WITH SHORTER TERM . AGENTS ARE NOT STUPID . IDEALLY I AGREE IN PERFECT WORLD I WOULD NOT GIVE ANYONE LONGER THEN THREE TO FIVE YEAR CONTRACT . BUT THINK ABOUT IT IF HE SIGNS A THREE OR FOUR YEAR DEAL HE IS UFA AT 30 0R 31 ONE HE LOSES A LOT OF LEVERAGE TOWARDS HIS NEXT CONTRACT BECAUSE OF AGE . AND THE BIGGEST PROBLEM FOR A PLAYER IS INJURIES AND FALLING PRODUCTION AS YOU AGE AGAIN LOSING BARGAINING POWER FOR NEXT CONTRACT . ANY GOOD QUALITY 26 OR 27 YEAR OLD UFA IS GOING TO WANT TO SIGN FOR MAX TERM CONTRACT POSSIBLE .</div></div>
I'll revisit this when he signs his actual deal. I would put my life on the fact that he signs less than 7 years.

As a Hawks fan I hate the idea of bringing in Nash at 7 mil even if its for one year. All the other trades looks good to me though. I think Severson is definitely someone who can help the Hawks out more.

Yes he has struggled at the dot, but hes what 22 years old? Let the kid grow a little bit he has the potential to be a 60-70 point guy.

I would "wager" that he is absolutely going to say no to that. If anything, the Hawks are no longer backed into a corner with the salary cap. It is not desperate for them to get rid of the contract and that is 100% a desperate trade.

As a Hawks fan I would rather not get rid of Anisimov just to place Bozak at 2C. Schmaltz fills that role and has already showed he and Kane can have something very special together.

Hawks would not move that pick to get rid of Seabs contract. Bowman has said repeatedly that he doesn't feel pressure to move that.

Yep and have absolutely zero room to make any moves during the season such as calling guys up. They wouldn't give themselves that little of flexibility.

What would the benefit be for the Hawks trading the 8th overall pick in that deal? Wow that is a really bad trade idea.
