Yes let re-acquire Darling and get rid of Crawford after seeing how much of a disaster this team was after losing Crawford.

I still don't get how people believe that losing Crawford is a worthwhile pursuit... Carolina broke Darling, we don't want him back.

You save less than 3 mil in cap space, and get a metric **** ton worse. Sorry, but it's always a terrible idea to make your cap savings up in the net.

Yeah, I don't want Nuge. Keep him next to McDavid and he'll finally live up to his $6M contract.

I don't know why people keep on trying to throw Hossa into deals when Hossa doesn't handcuff Bowman at all......... Bowman CAN INDEED spend Hossa's cap hit this summer.. IF a team wants Hossa they're going to have to give up assets because Hossa is basically 4.275 coupon against the cap and that has value to a team....

I would want a 2nd round pick for Hossa at least..

https://www.capfriendly.com/ltir-faq

Can LTIR be used in the off-season?
Yes, LTIR can be used in the off-season while the 10% off-season cushion is active. LTIR in the off-season is calculated using the basic equation outlined above, which permits a team to exceed the off-season salary cap. To use off-season LTIR the team must provide doctors proof that the player in question will continue to be injured at the beginning of the regular season for 10 NHL games and 24 calendar days.

Basically, Bowman can spend Hossa's cap hit knowing that he will be placed on LTIR come the first day of the regular season..

So yea, no need to trade Hossa. But if a team wants him to circumvent the cap floor then I'm sure Bowman would want something of real value back..

Hossa is not a "cap dump"...

There is that Faulk trade rumor or musing. It sounds like his defense is an issue at times. I remember when the Blackhawks got Daley, it was only a few years ago so not too tough to remember. In the first period of the first game vs the Rangers, I remember he looked out of position a few times and had great sight lines for two goals against. I was surprised only how long it took for them to trade him. And then Daley was decent for the Penguins.

I have no idea if Faulk would fit in if they traded for him. He might. I don't think it's an easy projection to make.
