KEEPING TOP 4D AND CIRELLI OPTION 2
I would absolutely love to add Cirelli, but like Viqsi said, Jenner's a nonstarter. Interested what you think a non-Jenner Cirelli deal might look like.

That’s a fair assessment from a non-jackets fan of laine. Jackets aren’t going to sell that low on him but no team will pay what he’s worth when healthy. Jackets don’t need the cap so are better off hoping he can stay healthy and have a rebound season and get more value for him next offseason or next trade deadline

Laine has way more value to that to Columbus. Especially with retention for 2 years. That’s an easy pass

Better Down the Middle
Jenner isn't remotely available, per player, owner, and acting GM. He's obviously not the same caliber player, but in terms of franchise significance, it would be like teams poking around asking about Bergeron's trade value.
In terms of purely player value, Merkulov and a 1st is probably close. In terms of actually prying him loose, there's a significant add to that.

Jiricek is a nonstarter. Ehlers is great, but with Laine and Gaudreau making $8.7M+, and Marchenko likely getting $6M this offseason, he's probably not a fit unless you're taking Laine back.

The value is of course more than fine, an underpay, really, but sadly Boone Jenner is not available. No, not even for that. Everyone from ownership to the player himself (who has trade protection) has said he is not available. Could we interest you in something else?

Not specifically with CBJ (I'm a Sharks fan so I've noticed bad ones coming to the Sharks), but I've seen plenty where people aren't retaining and the Sharks are giving mid round picks as opposed to getting something for taking on the bad contract.

Staying cost effective
Columbus have no reason to move Texier unless they get a player that they need more in return. Even if they were looking to move him in exchange for a pick, I'd think they'd need a 2nd coming their way. Also, they'd get more than that as compensation from an offer sheet.
In summary: Columbus decline.

Look, Jenner is the heart and soul of Columbus. Ownership will probably never approve of trading him and he doesn't want to leave. There is something to be said for some sort of continuity and love for the team in the locker room. All in all, they have very little incentive save a chance at winning the Cup. Does this trade provide that? Probably not.
Having said that, I personally love Karlsson's game, so in the highly unlikely event that this were to happen, I'd support it. I suspect that I would probably be in a minority among Columbus fans, though.
Hague for Texier I like.

TML2024-25
Utah do not have a whole lot of centre depth and Cooley is their future there, so I imagine they pass on that quite easily.
Columbus definitely pass on that. Gaudreau had almost the same number of points as Tavares on a crappy low-scoring team and was tied for 12th in 5v5 primary assists in the entire league. He was basically the only high-quality forward in Columbus this past season, besides not being able to score on the breakaways.

Columbus Burns It Down
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Danny99</b></div><div>And they will probably have to do it again.</div></div>
Again, what is there to tear down? The most valuable players have full NMCs and the only other guys that make sense to trade are peripheral or guys that they likely want to get rid of anyway. It's not like they're gonna start trading away guys they drafted in the last 3 years since the rebuild started to restart the rebuild again.

Columbus Burns It Down
There isn't exactly a whole lot to tear down in Columbus. Gaudreau and Severson are probably locked in with no trade/move clauses. Werenski has a full NMC and seems pretty content. If you wanna call moving out Laine, Provorov, Boone, Gudbranson, and Elvis a tear down, I guess? Everyone else that's of any real importance is 23 and younger and not the kinda players you move out when you're trying to rebuild.

Texier is bigger than Clarke. He has some skill but is also a reliable defensively. He can play a lot of roles in the middle 6.
