If we were trying to be competitive then Markstrom no question.
Guys is a gamer and a legitimately good #1 goalie that can play 50+ and a locker room leader by all accounts.
Coronato has potential to be a top line player *one day*.
Markstrom makes you for more competitive over the next 3 the a prospect does.

Flames would take that.
Not sure they will be shopping Coleman though unless he indicates he wants out but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I do think it's fair on both sides.

Interesting idea. I wonder if they would prefer sharangovich instead of mang.
This just doesn't feel like a deadline move. Not sure if the panthers want to move out two key pieces from a Contending team at the deadline.

I agree.
Feels like we got a handful of nickle and dimes buried in other teams couches.
No real quality here.
A single late 1st and no real blue chip prospect for 4 UFAs out the door, 3 of which were top roster players.
Pretty dissapointed so far.

I disagree. He should fetch more then a late 1st, a 3rd pairing D and a couple C prospects. This would be a terrible return looking at historical comparables.

He is more of a rec project at this point and maybe worth a mid to late 2nd at most. I think you are also undervaluing the cost of multiple years or retention.</div></div>
I get it.
I see a high end prospect that's early development has been derailed by injuries and now he's locked down rhe depth chart. But I also see signs of growth to his game and stabilizing from his injuries.
It's definitely a buy low on a previously high end prospect without a spot in there org. But that's been conroys mo so far with sharangovich, kuzmenko and Bryz.
Maybe you can get some additional pieces.

LA pass - Kings can't afford Markstrom, and Markstrom is similar to Talbot, in my opinion.</div></div>
I think Marky is a few tiers above talbot as someone whose seen both extensively. Talbot a solid backup or 1B guy. Hes good for awhile but can sustain it. Marky can be an elite workhorse starter. Marky and talbot would be a top random.

Disagree.
I think its in the ballpark. Goalies are notoriously difficult to value in trades.
I think Turcotte has alot of ceiling still and you wont get a better young center back.
We're off the hook for the bad contracts coming back next season we won't need the 2m from Markstrom for the next couple years.

He's the furthest thing from inconsistent.
In the last 9 years in the NHL as a starting goalie he's only had 2 season below a .910 and one of those season he was a .904. Only one season below .900 as a workhorse starter on non-elite teams.
There's maybe 5 more consistent statters in the NHL

That price on Hanfin is pretty egregious. He’s worth a first and a second with retention. What makes you think you’ll get Wallinder and a first?</div>
Hanifin is a top 32 top pairing well rounded defender in the league. At 27 signed for 8 years you get all his prime years.
Wallinder is a good not great prospect. He's probably somewhere around the red wings 5th or 6th best prospect.
His ceiling is Hanifin and he has a long way to go. Value wise he's worth an early 2nd.
Hanifin with 50% retention and taking cap back is worth 1st + x2 2nds.
Since wallinder is worth ane early 2nd I downgraded the other 2nd to a 3rd. I also added protection for the pick.
This idea was given from red wing fans posts.

Well if we break the OP's trade down
Hanifin retained for Bahl + Clarke + 1st + 2nd
Then that leaves Markstrom for VV + Foote + 3rd + 5th.
That's a bad return for Markstrom</div></div>
These guys seriously want a top-10 goalie with term and a top-32 27 year old D man, both retained, for a mid-to-late 1st, a bottom pairing Dman and a bunch of peanuts.
What a joke.
I can't even respond to them anymore.

As a devils fan I'm sure you love this trade. No flames fan would support this.
A 3rd pairing d and a tweener winger.
We have no need or desire for either.
No thank you.
Minimum would be 1st + 2nd + 2nd + clark/bahl
And the clark/bahl addition would still be underwhelming but atleast acceptable.
(Comparables are lindholm and Orlov. I can also provide more.)

Value is fair.
Flames are just flooded with wingers in the system right now though especially compared to what they have for centers and defence.
Have to think they take best package available no matter what but for that reason it's not the ideal package for the flames.

We would probably trade Lizotte and the draft picks for Noah Hanifin, though.</div></div>
Having watched both extensively, Vladar is a big upgrade on Rittich. He's just on a worse team. Maybe Rittich is finally figuring it out though.
Vladar is also 26 and Rittch is 31.
Vladar has some serious potential even though the numbers don't reflect. The only reason most flames want to give him up is because we have Wolf coming up.
