ARI trade
As a hockey fan and a sane person, OMG NO!!
OEL is a great D but c'mon.....a true #1 Center in the mold of Kopitar or Toews is unbelievably difficult to find.

Possible
Erm....
JVR alone is worth that pick....
2 players plus a 2ND RD PICK for a 4th and 5th??? I don't understand that....
why is RNH only worth scraps to EDM but when the Leafs trade him he worth a top 5 pick and a former 1st rd pick??? Please explain!

TML - RUMOURED TRADES
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>leafs1967again</b></div><div><i>Unfortunately they are just rumours and none of the other teams would consider them.
FYI Bibeau would need to be protected or lost just like Fleury. If they trade Fleury they will likely want help now.</i></div></div>
Agreed they are just rumours but.......
Bibeau has 0.0% chance of being drafted in the expansion draft. Way too many goalies ahead of him in line to be selected (Vasilevsky or Bishop in TB, Fleury or Murray in PIT just to name 2 out of the 30 teams). They have Jarry(?) in the minors and they get a decent 3rd line winger and a 2nd rd pick. Not a bad haul for a guy you could lose for nothing.
And the ARI trade was allegedly offered by them. If they want Matthews, they are going to have to pony up on that one.

TML - RUMOURED TRADES
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>EvanCarr</b></div><div><i>Very interesting... However, these trades are not, in any way, accurate rumors. They are pulled out of nowhere by unreliable sources with no credentials whatsoever. Makes for fun predictions, but they aren't anywhere near being realistic.</i></div></div>
Definition of a rumour.
ARI trade will never happen.
I can see the NJD trade but only if a big name slides.
OTT...not so much but its fun to think of.
PIT's may not be so far fetched but I don't think TML is interested in MAF at the moment

TML - GOALIE TRADE
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snizbonne</b></div><div><i>Vesey is only going to sign if he plays top 6 minutes and that third line is not experienced. Soshkniov and Hyman don't play along with the fact Carrik is basically a lock on D for next season.</i></div></div>
Good points. Meant to put Vesey in on 2nd line and Michalek on 3rd with everyone else swapping in and out as need be or put Brown in the minors until injury. Lines can be played with

TML - GOALIE TRADE
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>alwaysnextyear</b></div><div><i>Nice work. I just wonder whether the Pens would part with Murray at all at this point. They might be more inclined to just get rid of Fleury for pennies on the dollar and save the cap room.</i></div></div>
I was thinking the same thing. PIT and TB are in the same boat with their goalies. I went with Murray because I think he will be a very good starter at the right age for Toronto's rebuild. Realistically I think Fleury will be the one gone.

babsocks
I firmly believe that the Leafs will make a MAJOR effort to sign Stamkos. He's 26, scores 35-50 per year, 1st line center, fitness freak and a very professional pro. ALL of this is right up Babcock and Shanny's alley. Leafs need him. With him being our 1C we can shift Kadri down to 2C and shelter Matthews a bit on the 3rd line. Same with Marner on Matthews wing. Nylander will be a winger this year on Kadri's line with either Lupul or Michalek. I really don't think that the leafs are 3 years away from making the playoffs. With a good goalie acquisition this summer I think we miss the 2017 playoffs but the 2018 I really believe we make it.

TML - Wishful Thinking
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>leafs1967again</b></div><div><i>Wow that Devils trade is bad. Where are they getting "offence"? Lupul is done, Holland is a press box plug and play, and Percy is an AHL depth player (if he clears waivers). Really bad</i></div></div>
Agreed Lupul is done in Toronto but may have a season or 2 left in him to put up 15 goals and 15 assists. Holland still has a tiny bit of potential to be a 3rd line offensive player. Shown flashes of that in the past and Percy is a calm and heady player. Not given a chance or will be in Toronto. We are also taking a bad contract from a budget team. That is a valuable thing. Look what we got from Washington at the deadline for Winnik. Laich, Carrick and a 2nd....

TML - Wishful Thinking
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div><i>Bozak at his present day value won't get a 2nd rounder i don't think.
The NJ trade won't happen. With Clowe they have LTIR to compensate for his cap hit and (I've only learned about this recently as well) they get compensated up to 80% for his salary by an insurance company. That's the difference between the Horton deal. The Jackets gambled on the fact that Horton would stay healthy so they didn't insure his contract (terrible idea for a guy with multiple concussions already). So the insurance wouldn't pay for it. Columbus had to pay every penny for a player that would never play again. Since they were on the hook for his salary, they figured might as well trade him for a player that will actually get to play for the team in Clarkson. Not sure that worked out too well for them since the LTIR cap relief is probably worth more in value than Clarkson's production so far.</i></div></div>
Hmmmm....didn't know they were insured with Clowe. I remember reading that they were trying to rid themselves of his contract not that long ago. And I believe in the right situation, like Detroit, Bozak would grab a 2nd rounder. Good 2nd/3rd line guy, great on faceoffs and good defensively. Detroit loves those guys....They did have Richards and Weiss last year. Bozak is better then both of those guys right now, IMO

Realistic w/Stammer
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ABUNCHOFCATS</b></div><div><i>Vancouver just traded away a promising young center because they had too many centers, why would they take Bozak? Also Anders Lindback and Matt Martin (at 1.5??)? Booooooo</i></div></div>
The Bozak trade was more for what we could possibly get back for him. I also think Vancouver has a fairly dumb GM over there. Lindback was at $950000 and I don't think Martin at $1.5mil is that big of an over payment....if at all.
Marincin may not quite get $2.1 million but I don't think its that far off.
Holland still has some upside as an offensive 2nd/3rd line guy (more of a 3rd liner tho) 4th round may be on the high end but again I think its a fair deal
