Run For It
Sandin and Liljegren are key parts of the Leaf’s d-core now. They’re not going to be shipped away for one year rentals, if for anything at all.

My worry as well. That’s why I tried to break it up with double retention via multiple teams.

Murphy is a top 4 shut down d men, Benn is a 6th-8th dman.
Anderson and Domi add the missing elements to the Leaf’s top 9 and score at similar to better rates than Kerf and Engvall. Only caveat is that Engvall is occasionally used in late game situations to defend leads (in game 3 against Tampa he assisted on mikeyevs empty netter), and I don’t think Anderson and Domi would be trusted to do that.

And josh anderson scores in key playoff situations than so does kerfoot. Anderson isnt even gritty outside of throwing a hit every now and then. He's also abysmal defensivly and has the agility of an ocean liner.
Neither player brings anything of value to the leafs</div></div>
He’s a great skater, and he hits more than anyone on the Leafs. He’s can skate the puck through the neutral zone, and although he can’t do much more than shoot it on net (rather than cut in), but playing with elite offensive players like JT and Marner will compliment his game and theirs. He can skate, forecheck well, and I’m not concerned with his defensive play given how well the rest of the Leafs forwards defend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Zyik5mbQhg

He's a hit and run artist and he cant score unless he's given prime minutes and top power play time which he wont get in Toronto and he is a gigantic liability and his advanced metrics were awful in Carolina too.
Josh anderson is also pretty much the same.
Neither of these guys helps any contender</div></div>
This is where the eye test comes into play IMO - in a 7 game series against Tampa, I’d prefer to have some grit on my team. Anderson and Domi have both produced in key moments in the past two playoffs which is more than our bottom 6 has offered. I haven’t looked at Domi’s advanced stats beyond corsi and fenwick which were around average.

no room for Ozhiganov, he'd just ruin his career being a 7th defensemen and dwindling in the minors

Liljegren Rosen and Borgman still exist. Keith can stabilize the leafs top four for 4 more years. guy is built like a tank

THE PERFECT NYLANDER TRADE MAYBE
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mikearky</b></div><div>Well buddy, i guess you must have forgot but. Matthew's contract is up this year as is Marner's and Kapapen's,
Kapapen, Marner, Matthews, Lindholm, Leivo, Ennis, Johnson, Sparks, Gardiner, Hainsey, Ozhiganov and Maricin contracts are up at the end of this year. That is roughly 15.4 million plus 3 million in cap you have this year, plus let's say the cap.goes up 4 million. You have 22 million. If you pay Matthews 12 million and Marner 7 million that is 19 million gone. You have 7 players to sign, to make a 23 man roster, with 3 million, average 400k per player, well below the minimum salary.
So tell me how this works.</div></div>
Where are you getting these numbers from? The Leafs have 30 million dollars in cap space according to cap friendly. Lets say the cap goes up by 4 million, and Hainsey, a likely departure gives 3 more million to work with. Thats 37 million dollars. 19 million for Matthews and Marner leaves 18 million for 7 players now. Gardiner, if he says gets 6, kapanen probably around 5 million, Johnson and leivo 1.5 each, and 4 million for the rest, and you can always let go of some guys and bring other minor leaguers up.

Horton will be on LTIR plus Hainey's salary gone will accommodate the 9 million needed for Marner. Gardiner and Marleau will also probably be gone in time for Matthew's payday. The increase in the cap will accommodate the rest of the players. Besides I dont think this trade is happening realistically and Nylander will get less than Niederreiter and Dumba combined

They gave up multiple picks for Tatar, I doubt they'd want to give up more considering they might not even make the playoffs next year. Imo it doesn't make sense for the knights to give up draft picks higher than a third.

Why would Vegas do that trade??? They might as well sign Grabner, or another UFA winger in Fa for cheaper, and not give up a second round pick.

That is one expensive bottom pairing, and you can let go of Thornton if your signing Tavares; hes not signing for one million.
