yeah. cambell trade was fine admittedly as he gave us 2 solid seasons of goaltending, but it'd be so nice to have moore and o'reilly in the bottom 6 rn. i dont even know what we can do about the reaves contract, it seems like an unmitigated disaster. stings even more given lafferty's production in van rn.

yeah, we'd have to pull a Tampa or a Vegas - bury someone until the playoffs come.

fair enough, the willy return would probably be something more along the lines of the dubois return

i disagree, chicago is going to look to insulate bedard with some servicable players for his development. could be a 7th, could be future considerations for all i care.

Or Graves and schenn for maybe 1-1.5 more than just Brodie. Maybe get creative with the cap space freed ups and trade for someone. Lots of options. Or if the rumours are true, with that 5m freed up would go a long way fitting Erik karlsson. Even tho I don’t think that trade happens. You can just get creative when you got cap room.</div></div>
schenn cannot replace brodie. not a chance. brodie stays if all he gets is a 3rd.

even though brodie couldn't move the puck in the playoffs, we don't have that many other options. i just cant see the leafs giving him up for a near meaningless pick

that'll open up after tony's contract expires this year. could also involve a 3rd team potentially.

maybe. I felt that an underrated reason for boston losing that series in game 6 is when they started clifton over gryzlyk. i think that they would've won with gryzlyk in - not cuz he's good or anything, but clifton was pretty responsible for a couple of panther goals

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>ThoughI would love the trade as Leaf fan, I find it funny that so many Leaf fans want to trade their high priced players, which could make them weaker in the upcoming season. Scoring in the playoffs has been the Leafs downfall in the past few playoffs. Though Barbashev has good spurt last year with Vegas.....he's averages 37 points a season....hardly worth 6m.</div></div>
he started to score when he played with eichel and stone. he'll have similar caliber players with matthews and marner. i'd rather barbashev and konecny at 11.7 (including the JT retention) than just JT at 11. gives more scoring depth, something the leafs lack.

looks like i forgot to add the retained salary, my bad. ill fix that. and yes, this is more of a pipe dream, moreso what the roster could look like in 2 years when JT's contract is up, with different role players depending on availability

8 million for a 70-80 point centerman is a great deal. seattle is deep, but they need high end talent and the FA pool is pretty bare.

they have no choice, their hands are tied by the cap. they'd rather take a flier on a cheap player who has the potential to produce at coltons pace if they want to contend. not sure if another team can match that or if theyd go higher.
