The CEO, who died, bragged about ignoring safety norms. If you have the money to spend $250,000 on a sub trip, you have the money to research the company. No sympathy.

Those voting no didn't watch him play with the Stars. Solid signing, I'm fine with it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PhilsWeiner</b></div><div>Saying Jones is a 1RHD is a stretch. He's shown flashes and glimpses of being good (on Chicago), but was always average for the most part. You can get his offensive and defensive production by paying two players what he makes, and probably be better off doing it. IMO JustaBoss is right, Dallas is getting shafted here.</div></div>
I agree with that but it makes no sense for either team to make this trade.

Dallas Stars signed Roope Hintz (8 Years / $8,450,000 AAV)
There's a lot of really ignorant comments both on here and on Twitter of people who have clearly never seen him play.
Hintz is so very important to Dallas. It isn't even just the goals and points, he's a fast as hell skater and plays a 200ft game. He kills penalties, blocks shots, takes the body.
If he played in a bigger market people would not be saying the things they're saying. This contract is not a steal but it's far from an overpay. I hate to take a shot at other team's players but look at what Barzal got, look at what Marner makes and tell me how this is an overpay.

Robertson is signed for 4 seasons and is still an RFA at expiry. When that deal expires the cap will have increased and other larger deals will have expired (Benn, Lindell, Marchment, Faksa, Suter). Having to pay Robertson more on the next deal is hardly an issue for the Stars.

I don’t know what’s worst. The JRob trade or the contract you gave him.
Chances that Jim Nill trades are slim, chances it’s to Colorado are slimer, chances that the player traded is Robertson are even more slimer, chances it’s for a bad package to Dallas are impossible.

Stars 23
1. Arizona is nowhere close to accepting the Chychrun trade. Only things of good value going to them would be Lindell & the 1st. Everything else is either a cap dump or of lower value than they'd want.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ceeque84</b></div><div>The stars would be silly not to sign Robertson to a 8 yr contract.</div></div>
2. The smartest thing Dallas could do is sign Robertson to a 4-year contract. It takes him up to his last year of RFA eligibility and allows Dallas to essentially maintain contractual control of him for up to the next 12 years.
3. Wtf is that Harley trade? Why is Dallas trading a 20-year old, future top-4 LD for a 6th round pick?
4. Don't re-sign Holtby or Raffl
5. Don't sign Zadorov, and only sign 1 of Rutta or Miller
6. You can't have more than 3 buyouts at one time
7. Why on earth are we buying out Olofsson, Kero, and Hanley?

Stars decline that Habs trade 1000/1000 times. I don’t know how many times I have to say this, Stars aren’t trading Bourque for Petry, and certainly not adding a first. Drouin changes nothing in this.
Would you trade 2 of Montreal’s lower first’s for Suter?

Petry = 34 years old, still 3 years on his bad contract (that carry a limited NTC) after this year, declining performances and lastly, poor leadership. He is lucky the the Bell Center is empty. He would not like the "special" treatment he would get.
If Dallas thinks that they can make the PO and make noise after, then they should simply keep Klingberg and take their chances with him during the off season.
If Dallas do not think that they will make the PO, then it makes no sense at all to get Petry and they should just trade Klingberg.

The problem is that only Montreal fans think Petry is worth a 2nd. If he was worth that, someone would have traded for him already.

Another delusionnal trade involving Petry and Dallas.
If a team was offering something like that, Petry would be already gone.
No team is offering something close to that.
Hughes should just tell him to play hockey and stop whining and maybe you could unload him during the off season.

Tarasenko Klingberg Eichel

Ghost was placed on waivers for a reason. Dallas could’ve had him for free, but decided not to. Patrick isn’t anything special anymore, he’s another injury prone player that we already have a lot of. The two first are nice don’t get me wrong, but for a team that literally only has one competent RHD (Klingberg), and a team that is also looking to make the playoffs like the Flyers, it doesn’t make much sense because Dallas isn’t in a rebuild.

Karlsson
That Ottawa trade is absolutely horrible for Dallas. Lindell and Klingberg has formed a TOP10 D-pair this season in NHL, so it would be absolutely asinine for a playoff team to trade them away. Klingberg is in the Norris race, he has been arguably the best offensive d-man in the NHL this season, and due to his great contract, I actually think that he's currently more valuable than Karlsson, or at least really close to the same value.
HARD PASS.
That PIT trade however is much better (not exactly a high bar to cross). I still wouldn't accept that as it is - Hagelin has a negative value, and Lehtonen has been great backup for Bishop this season. We don't even need Jarry, Dallas has a great goalie prospect coming already - Jake Oettinger.
