That might be true, I just thought of Laughton for Karlsson and then it’s Hague for Frost. Frost doesn’t seem to fit with the style that Torts puts out and Laughton is hit and miss but more less a baby version of Karlsson just on the wing. I feel Karlsson and Hague just fit the flyers way more and given the contract of Karlsson the value may seem low for him and Hague, but teams value cap space a lot.

Capitals make the move for the future and get younger
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>What would you compare Zegras to? I want to gauge what the thought is for his Prime. I am thinking spitting image of Kuznetsov. I want to understand where you think he will be in terms of career success</div></div>
There's a flyers fan named <a href="/users/SpiderSpiderSpider28" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@SpiderSpiderSpider28</a> who did a great deep dive into Zegras' first two seasons in the league and who his trajectory is comparable with linked <a href="https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/4853904">Here</a> (Many thanks to Spider for putting this together)
With some context in place, is Zegras ever going to eclipse the players on that list? No, likely not, but he can have similar careers to some of them, such as Point, Larkin, and maybe Aho. Point has had the benefit of playing on largely very good teams with tons of star talent, Larkin has suffered through a long drought in Detroit, and Aho has also been on largely good teams. There's no reason to believe Zegras won't become a PPG top 6 play driver through his peak. He's never going to win a Selkie, but he's patched up a lot of the holes in his defensive game this season. A player he could end up a lot like us Artemi Panarin. Yeah, Panarins rookie numbers were better, but he also entered the league at 24 years old and stepped right onto a Blackhawks team that had just established itself as a dynasty at the time. If Zegras was playing with prime Kane and Toews, could he put up 70+ pts? Yeah, I'd say he would.
I figured the worst case scenario is he's Phil Kessel, not the kind of player you build your team around, but the kind of elite complimentary player that those core players need to really elevate their game. (Guess you could level similar accusations at Panarin)
And as far as his importance to team scoring goes, the Ducks scored less goals this season than we did last season, despite having Vatrano go wild with 37 goals, as well as adding Leo Carlson, Pavel Mintyukov, Olen Zellweger, and Alex Killorn to the roster this year. Zegras' absence was hugely noticed this season, he's one of the main drivers of our offense.
So we've got a 23 year old forward who has elite talent, who generates a ton of offense on a team that massively struggles on it without him, and we have a spot for him in our top 6 to probably play with McTavish and Terry next season.

Sillinger Offersheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SpiderSpiderSpider28</b></div><div>Do Columbus fans still think Sillinger has high upside? I really liked him back at the 2021 draft a ton and would kill to give him a chance in Philly, but it sounded like his development may have been a bit rushed</div></div>
Oh, it was absolutely rushed. No "a bit" about it. He benefited his rookie year from being Voracek's personal center. Then the next year Jake suffered his final concussion in Finland and LTIRed (and just officially retired this week), and Sillinger proceeded to have a dreadful sophomore slump. This year, he rebounded and was arguably the team's best center by the end of the season, usable in all situations. He's probably still a 3C on a good team with an optimistic Cirelli comp, but defensively reliable centers who can play up or down the lineup as needed are definitely worth 5.5 mill. Columbus also is historically starved of centers, so I think while 5.5 for his first RFA deal feels high, the org would be pretty motivated to keep him.
Also I do not think the Flyers should be risking that first.

Making tough choices for the future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SpiderSpiderSpider28</b></div><div>Is Turcotte waiver eligible next season? Sort of the difference between agreeing with you or thinking that this is a significant overpay</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KINGS67</b></div><div>Hmmm. I don’t think so to be honest.</div></div>
Alex Turcotte is waiver eligible next season. Turcotte is also no longer an AHL player. He has been really good for the Kings while he's been healthy. The problem is that he can't stay healthy.
If he is healthy, he'll be in the NHL lineup, if he's not, he'll be on LTIR. There's no risk of losing him to waivers.
I don't think the Kings are looking to shop Turcotte right now. With Byfield's extension looming, I think they're looking for as many inexpensive skilled players as they can find for the bottom six. Thomas, Turcotte, and Laferriere will all be on the squad next season. Helenius and ****emo will get a good long look as well.

Eiserman is exactly like Holtz! Very one dimensional but that shot is elite! If he can get to average skater, passer, and Defensivly he could be a huge piece for the club who gets him, but if he doesn’t he likely ends up a 3rd line wing and PP specialist.

I'd say TK is too old to be the main part of the trade, if we're sending out Zegras, we'd be looking for a piece that'll be around as long as he can. Frost not only doesn't close that gap for us, I don't think he has a home on our roster.
You've got an overabundance of RW, it makes sense to exchange that for a center, but from anaheims POV, it's got to be Foerster or Tippett, and you guys just got Tippett signed to a sweetheart deal, and there'd be a strong preference for Foerster by Anaheim, so the add would be a lot higher on Tippett.

Why are people higher on him than guys like Helenius, Greentree, even Hage who had a considerably better season?</div></div>
The Flyers are loaded with young wingers, and I'm not sure the Dmen that would be available at this pick would tempt them much. They could use a good C prospect, though. Boisvert is kinduva poor man's Gauthier type, so there ya go. :)

Changes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SpiderSpiderSpider28</b></div><div>Basically none of what you said makes any sense.
1) You realize that players, you know... actually have to sign the offer sheet. Furthermore, even if they do, that means that you're not only handing them a bad contract, but creating hostility with other management groups and setting yourself up for retaliation in the future. As for adding Knight, you're getting a buy low candidate with enormous upside and incentivizing Florida to move Lundell by helping them shed salary. Lundell is one of 2 young Centers who are even semi-realistically available on the market, he's going to cost a lot
2) Upgrading a pick with like a 10% chance of yielding an NHL caliber player to a pick with a roughly 40% chance of yielding one + adding a guy who played at an MVP level in the OHL in his D+1 is sure a funny way of saying "free"
3) Valimaki is way, way better than Attard. FFS Attard is the same age as Valimaki and doesn't even have a fraction of the same quality resume on his career so far.</div></div>
I admittedly came in a little hot lol didn’t mean to be hostile or anything if it sounded like it. I don’t believe Knight is worth it. We have too many goalies in house right now that could turn into something and they should be the ones getting chances in a rebuild imo.
1. Yes I get the bad notion but I don’t see them trading him I see the only way to get him is through over sheet.
2. The TK trade just feels like a waste to me tbh. If ur doing that deal for TK the prospect has to be a top 10 prospect at minimum not a guy in the late 1st round that got out played by our third rounder. I mean Frost played like an MVP in the OHL too. I take it with a grain of salt unfortunately. Barkey played like an MVP this year on Cowan’s team.
3. I’m low on Valimaki and ur high on him so that’s just an agree to disagree no biggie

I think Washington goes with Eiserman if he is still on the board when they are up. They need to get more people that can put the puck in the net considering most of their young talent (outside of leonard and miro) are more so pass first players

Let me see, you paid 1st (12th ovr) + 2 2nds year ago for Chychrun who had 2 years left with reasonable cap hit.
And you think Philly would pay 2 1sts (this year gonna be in range 14-20) + useful roster player (worth ~ 3rd right now) for Chychrun with one year left?
Nope, not gonna happen.
