Assuming Price Healthy
Not bad... I have a couple of concerns though. For one, I don't think Statsny is going to be willing to go to Montreal. He doesn't seem to have a lot of interest in going East unless it is going to get him immediate success. That said, the money is probably pretty close. Secondly, why trade so much good stuff (for the future most likely) to Buffalo if you are not even playing Bogosian?! You may as well just trade a few prospects and a 1st/2nd for O'Reilly or something. Not to mention, what is the point of making a decent trade to improve your draft picks in a STACKED draft, and then just trading one of these picks in order to get Bogosian and a 7th? My only other concern is that Galchenyuk doesn't seem like a third liner to me, but I guess I see why he is there with this decent lineup. Overall, despite my concerns, I think this is not bad at all, it is quite good.

Am I the only one who kind of thinks that Staal may be more valuable than Burrows in some ways? Then again, it might not matter much because both of them will be on the injured reserve all year...

This years draft normally past 20 isnt supposed to have higher than b+ at best prospects but this year it has A to A- in the late first which is rare so nyr wouldnt give up 1 A or A+ prospect depending on who is chosen but this years top 10 are all elite potential but some have higher cieling than the others, and 2 A- per say for 1 A+.</div></div>
I mostly agree because it is simply not worth it to give up a chance at guys like Kotkaniemi or Boqvist, Merkley or McIssac and then a range of other at least decent players. They may be willing to do something involving a second rounder or a 2019 pick in some way, but it is not likely. At the same time, I see the appeal for them in getting Zadina.

Team Canada???
I think that this is a very good team and you did not miss anyone that I can think of (maybe Huberdeau or Letang could be considered somewhere, but whatever). I do have a couple of suggestions though. First of all, McDavid and Marchand together...I will pass. Not to mention, Bergeron has got to be in the middle. He is one of the best faceoff men in the league and he plays a two-way game. I also think that Giroux should be playing, probably instead of Johansen by putting Seguin in the middle. It is a tough choice... As for penalty kill, Benn and Toews should be on there, not a top-scorer like McDavid. Finally, If you are basing things on this year and recent seasons, Price should not be the number one goalie, Fleury should be. Also, a Pietrangelo-Doughty first pairing would be better in my mind.

Trade with Tampa and Toronto
You have got some good, interesting ideas and both trades seem fair. I am just not quite sure that Tampa will be so willing to give up Johnson, a very good centerman who would be tough to give up, especially for a team which may be attempting at another President's trophy, or Stanley Cup. The Leafs trade is interesting because they really need to get Sparks some time in the NHL. and because Spezza would be a good replacement for a guy like Bozak. Not to mention, it might allow them to sign JVR rather than Bozak or Komarov. We will have to see what happens!

However this roster looks, the trolls will flame it regardless
I will say that both are overpayments, but at least a bit of that is necessary in order to get important elite/franchise players like them.
Also, this team would win the cup, but only because of Ryan Reaves! lol.
In all seriousness, this team would be very good except that there is no guarantee that the goaltending will hold up throughout the entire season and the playoffs. Further, Fowler and Skinner should each be on the top line/pairing. Finally, with the trades, just add a prospect from each team who might be good enough to play in case of injuries (eh hem Letang).
I am very glad that people actually have fun with this stuff instead of just getting mad at everyone for sharing their thoughts or opinions.

Our 1st for Travis Konecny (FLYERS FANS?)
I really like Konecny and I think Spooner would be a good player to add, but I am not sure that Edmonton should trade their 1st and 2nd round picks, especially if they are not filling their most important need; defense. The cap situation scares me a bit too. Also, I don't know if Edmonton is giving up quite enough in either deal, as the Flyers will likely want a prospect.

What do you think?
I think that they will be moved eventually, but that it is because of the money problems due to lack of attendance. I would say the exact same about Arizona. I personally think that Quebec could manage to have a good team for multiple years and that Carolina might be the one to move there. How great would it be if Mats Sundin got a role in the front office?
As for what you did, I do not think it is a good idea to trade Skinner no matter what you are getting. The trade that you did is kind of fair though... lol

I would say Forsberg for Trocheck but put him in Panarin's spot. As for Ekblad, Weber is injured a lot...but otherwise I see no possible options. Other players that I thought of were Pavelski and Getzlaf/Perry but there is no real spot for them.

I do not really understand either trade. For one, Scheifele is a franchise player who is not going anywhere unless it is either his own decision or a massive deal involving multiple draft picks and another amazing player. Secondly, why on Earth would they sign Brock Nelson just to trade him when he is being paid useless money and has barely any trade value? Not to mention, I don't think the Leafs should be trading any good picks in this year's draft (rounds 1, 2 and 3) at all, let alone if they are not getting at least another draft pick or young prospect. Finally, I don't really think it makes sense to trade Zaitsev without getting our money's worth. Maybe it would make more sense to try a deal involving Zaitsev for Myers??
I am also not quite sure how I feel about signing Joe Morrow when we can use Borgman, Rosen, or even Holl. I know you traded Rosen here though.
As for the lineup, I like most of it except that there should be a way to not need that many new guys up. At least bring up Aaltonen if you want to do so, even if he is a centerman. Last but not least, Marleau and Johnsson penalty kill line? I would say Hyman instead of Marleau.

Dumoulin is a bit of a cap thing but also Schmidt has been great with possession and zone entries/ exits while Dumoulin was caught out of position a lot. Vegas could always easily send down Dumoulin (with all their cap) if they don't like him and easily use one of their many highly touted rookie defensemen.
Id love to see JVR Bozak and Kessel reunite here.</div></div>
Okay. Gudlevskis would be a good choice. I agree about the Schmidt/Dumoulin thing. Getting Theodore might be an alternative too. As for reuniting that line, it would be very cool but I still don't know how likely it is. We will have to wait and see!

Shattering Other Teams Dreams
I am not quite sure why you would trade Dumoulin for Schmidt...how does it help Pittsburg? Is it a salary thing?
Also, that is a large deal with Florida and I don't think it will happen because they have a decent shot next year and they probably want to hold on to their solid defencemen. Maybe a better deal would be just Hagelin and Jarry for Haley and a pick? I am not sure...
The Bozak signing seems likely and makes sense but I am not sure that you should get your hopes up about JVR going to Pittsburgh. I would say he is most likely going to Philly, New Jersey, or staying in Toronto but I obviously am just guessing completely. I am not saying that they shouldn't try but it doesn't seem likely to me that they will get him. There are other good wingers that they could get though.
I am very curious to see if they ever go with line combinations like those... They are definitely interesting.
Do you think it would be a good idea to sign a backup goalie (like the Leafs did with McElhinney but only for one or two years)?
Overall, pretty good. I would say like 3-4 stars, so I rounded to 4.

Okay, that is more than reasonable. However, I am just not sure if they want to take the risk of giving away a 1st overall pick to a division rival (maybe a bit of a stretch there) who already has the 5th pick.

Giving it another go
I really like that you are giving Morin and Sanheim some good opportunities in the NHL but I am not so sure about the amount of money and years for Pateryn.
Also, I would not trade Simmons, who is an important part of this team in many ways, even if his +/- numbers were not so good.
I am not a huge fan of Weal or Laughton but I argue that trading both may not be the best thing for this team. In fact, the Dallas trade doesn't make much sense to me at all, even if Spezza could just add to this squad of centermen who won the second-most faceoffs of any squad in the league. (Flyers: 53.3% this year, Spezza: 55.8% this year)
On another note, JVR would be a good pickup for this team but I am not sure exactly what will happen to him, money-, team-, or year-wise.
Overall, not bad but I am not sure that all of this will happen...

I agree. Look at their numbers (especially at the back end):
-League's worst team in points and wins at 62 and 25
-League-worst goals for at 198
-3rd worst goals against at 278!
-Not to mention some not-so-good powerplay and penalty kill numbers
They need Dahlin, and they need him now.

So, trade two good defensemen who had decent years (Gardiner racked up some good points, even if he had trouble defensively, while Zaitsev had crazy +/- and blocked shots numbers) so that you can sign two extremely expensive defensemen, Roman Polak and Tomas Plekanec? Not to mention trading two decent goal scorers (who are both able to play center) in Kadri and Nylander and not bringing up Miro Aaltonen. I am sorry if this is coming out harsh but this does not make sense to me. I want to get Tavares or Carlson, but probably not both for the sake of money, and it might make sense to trade one or two of those guys in the next two years or so, but I don't think that these moves help the team win the cup in the next couple of years.
