If p.o. joseph was in that trade then, do you think it moves the needle. He's really fast and has logged top 10 speed marks in the entire NHL. Offensive d like him, will butcher and ty smith are the same archetype and for whatever reason sully doesnt like playing the last two but plays joseph, but anyway...pens have letang and karlsson so they don't really need a third fast offensive d. They need more defensive d in my opinion. Joseph isn't going to get valuable ice time and/ or deployment with those 2 either. We basically should be trading all 3.

Also im both a pens fan and canucks fan. Although, I'd prefer Canucks not to move hoglander or kuzmenko, they are both on the block. Tocchet likes gritty big players not small skilled ones which I think is fine with the current roster for now cause we have a good mix but tip the balance too far and Canucks lose too much skill.

Most important to note here too is that hoglander really only provides good eye test results for now cause of his limited role in the middle 6 or bottom 6. He's on a great deal. There's no way we get a fair return for him.

It will be similar to trading luke schenn last year. He's good and on a great deal and they only got a third because of his role. Its not even worth trading players like that. Schenn and hog should('ve) stay(ed).

Although the value you're giving is light, it's not miles away in what Hogs is probably worth at this point in his career. However the return isn't what the Canucks would need this season.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>Do Penguinb fans really think that trading scrubs, older vets making league minimum and bottom 6/playing in AHL and non-prospects who are 26-32 yrs old have value?
For example:

Taylor Gautheir, an undrafted goalie playing in ECHL with a 3.20+ GAA has value?
Magnus Hellborg, a 32 yr old goalie, with his 4th or 5th NHL team and just 24 appearances in the NHL in his Career?
Ryan Shea, a 4th round pick back in the day, now 26 yrs old, with just 5 NHL games with Penguins this yr?
Jansen Harkins twice on waivers, 26 yrs old?
Alex Nylander, 25 yrs old, professional since 2016, now in his 7th yr, any trade would be his 4th team, always leaves you disappointed?
Jordan Frasca, undrafted free agent, a stay at home, unremarkable player from the ECHL?
etc....

The entire taxi squad is a list of players who arent NHLers anymore like Andreas Johnsson, Colin White, Zohorna, etc...
You're trading Jarry, who might have value with Carter who has negative value and yet, you're getting value back?
You think CGY wants those scraps and gives you Dustin WOlf?

Yoiu're going to fix the team and save the season by trading those guys? For what?

You're throwing things with ZERO value in quantity for quality. And yet have you fixed whats wrong with this non-playoff, struggling team? Replacing your 3rd pairing defense that barely plays 12 minutes a game is the solution? Having 9-10 of your starting 12 forwards 30+ yrs old is the solution? They cant do it now, but this team should have been torn down, but the idea that your scrubs have value is crazy</div></div>

Good NHL goalies aren't worth a lot so especially not young ones. Taxi squad is made up of the pens depth so of course its not an all stars list, these options actually showcases strong depth and again bad coaching decisions. Also carter is still making a lot less than johnson and jarry has value hes like a starter b hes just making too much on a team that should be desperate for cap space and adding two way scoring forwards.
