Graves makes way too much for way too long, Eller may get you a 3rd at the deadline if you’re lucky, a 5th, and a career AHLer doesn’t make any sense for us.
Id rather just keep Markstrom or wait to trade him when teams get more desperate.</div></div>
I don’t know about a 3rd for Eller. This guy was an absolute dog all year and was invested in every single game. Brought life to our third line and played a key role as a penalty killer.

trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Not close on either trade.
Anaheim has absolutely no interest in any of those four players. The Leason trade is ignorant and the Zegras trade is downright idiotic. Anaheim doesn't need a LhD like Pierre-Olivier Joseph and a moment's research would have revealed that. As to the Zegras trade, Rakell is over the hill and fast becoming a cap dump, Poulin is a B prospect well below Gaucher, Mysak, Nesterenko and Pastujov (among others) in potential, and Pickering is a redundant LhD like Joseph. The only element of value here is the over-the-horizon first and for that, we'd give you Ryan Strome.
Using this statistic as if it defines the worth of a 23-year-old with two 60-point-plus seasons under his belt is so breathtakingly clueless as to beggar further description.
Easily the worst evaluation you will make in April and it's only the sixth day of the month!</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>Double whiff on those trades. Anaheim rejects both.
Pitt frankly doesn't have the pieces to pull Zegras, and we've no interest in adding any LHD.</div></div>
you realize that 2026 picks probably top 5 if not top 3.
There is no way the penguins would ever trade that pick... especially for a 60 point guy on a struggling year.
You are talking about a year with a 39 year old Malkin and 38 year old Crosby. How many years do you think they have in the tank before this team is picking top 5?
Hell I doubt they even move next years pick after seeing what almost happened with this years as at point they looked like they would be finishing just out the top 5. They simply don't have the option of moving it knowing it won't cost them a top 10 pick anymore. Let alone 2 years from now. Forget it.

More scoring more defense and needed changes actually addressed if they arise
Dubas angers both Buffalo and Columbus fanbases/GMs irreparably. Tuch and Jenner are untouchable. Dubas is swiftly told no and limited to 29 potential trade partners for the rest of his career.

I think cap goes up to like 87mil, no? In that situation, I think I'd rather keep Jarry and the picks and sign replacements for Jenner/Kuraly instead. You could put together a good team - assuming the trades went through

Rakell can stay in Pittsburgh. His contract is too long for Nashville which has alot of wingers coming up through the system.

I have seen some people (not sure if they're Sens fans) wanting to trade for Karlsson and they're giving up Chabot AND Norris for him, which seems insane to me. I wouldn't say no though.

Yes 3C for him should be where he is tried out in this lineup. We also do not need to see Carter unless it’s in the press box where he can prepare to join the front office this summer.

Nearly a decade
I'm not against firing him at all - but I gotta disagree with some of these takes.
It hasn't been arguably 3 years - I mean they clearly went to the playoffs 3 seasons ago. Granlund wasn't a top 6 talent on the Pens last year - so who would you have dropped? Same goes for Nylander this year. Also, you can make the argument that dropping Kessel led directly to back to back cups.
How does he not have a clue with goalie starters? Ned starting isn't a fix. Nedelkovic hasn't been better - they've both been great. You also can't guarantee Ned keeps up his play with a bigger workload and playing better teams. What mistake of a contract? Jarry's contract is fair and he's playing up to it.
Yeah we'd all love Eller to be on a 4th line - but then we'd have no 3C. I do agree about Zohorna though. Ian Cole got traded. Lafferty was a fine 4th line guy but he didn't really have a spot and wouldn't have improved the team in any meaningful way. If you can trade Smith you absolutely should. Honestly at this point you probably should trade Guentzel as well.

Why give up a first and a 2nd to get rid of Carter? Just wait until his contract is over at the end of the year. This team isn’t built to compete this season. Also… Vegas doesn’t need another goalie… plus they’ve spent the stone money on Hanifin supposedly. A whole bunch of not happening here

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MajesticWalrus</b></div><div>Yea maybe it's just I'm not sure how little he's valued. His cap hits are always really low and he's never traded for much
Past trades:
Traded from Arizona Coyotes with Nick Ritchie to Calgary Flames for Brett Ritchie and Connor Mackey
Traded from Detroit Red Wings to Los Angeles Kings for round 7 pick in the 2022 draft
Contracts:
2.3 million
1.7 million
1.2 million
1.1 million
In my opinion though, I think he's severely underrated by the league. Could easily get more in trades and contracts, even his highest contract could've been double based on similar defenders like marcus pettersson.</div></div>
i love stecher for 5/6 D he is steady no flash but no blaring mistakes. you watch coyotes game and he does nothing great but never makes mistake. i meant sweetner to take carter, i know its rental but a 4th is better than taking carter - he is totally useless for AZ.
BTW Ill bet AZ signs stecher for 2 years @ 1.5m

If you want a CGY goalie, Wolf is the last one to be traded. Markstrom and Vladar would be gone eons before Wolf is through trade
