<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GhostGM92</b></div><div>I completely disagree as Krebs is a completely irrelevant and is a soft winger, really a center who has been a bust. Sabres get back two third round picks and Mantha who's on the last year of his deal, he's scored more goals than Krebs ever has and is actually a winger not a center that plays on the wing. He's big and can be really effective when motivated. Needs to be pushed by a coach hard to get him to play physical and with an edge. He gives you another big body in the lineup which is needed. Skinner is replaceable on the wing and the Sabres added the most talented offensive dman in the league. Sabres right side is extremely weak so this was a needed trade. Please don't comment unless you actually understand hockey, thanks</div></div>
Not sure if you should be making those comments since you don't seem to grasp a few things yourself. Calling Krebs a bust is not accurate at all, he played a 4th line role with 2 scrubs and played very well while putting up 30 points at only 21 years old. He plays up the lineup and that total is much higher, he takes Quinns spot on line 2 and he posts 40-50 pts easy. Calling someone like that a bust makes zero sense.

You are going to get roasted LOL!!! Power for Gibson? You would seriously have to add Zegras to make that trade happen. You dont get the best up and coming dman and #1 pick in the draft for a washed up goalie

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DDossett</b></div><div>I think theres a lot of key points your just missing in my arguements here, pointing out the coyle will be a role player fits as what we need is guys who can play a role and hopefully push the rest of our developing team to take on the important functions of the role he fills. Mitts can't do that.
Also UPL has sucked at every level since 18? Amazing how bad everyone else must have played for him to get a 18-19 ohl goaltender of the year. Wjc gold metal, and more recently 22-23 "rookie" of the month. I think you like the bruins veteran style of tight checking defense and confuse it with the talent of thier goalie. Which is why you think adding swayman will help and dont realize how much the sabres roster needs a guy like coyle.
But whatever if you dont see it i obviously cant help you.</div></div>
Mitts can absolutely do that, he is 25 and he was thrust into a garbage system on a garbage team with a garbage coach (Krueger). OK sorry, he has sucked since 2019, I was off by a year, his AHL numbers were atrocious even when they had a decent time and I, as is with most people, could care less about his rookie of the month. He finished the season sub .890 save % and wasnt even trusted to start the final 8 games of the season. You need to get off the Coyle train and stop over valuing average at best players. If Adams traded Mitts for Coyce today he would get destroyed by the media and rightfully so. I can help you understand that in 2 years Mitts will be potting 65 points and coyle will be a 4th line 30 point guy at best.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DDossett</b></div><div>Mitts is the better player because he scores more points...and coyle at 32 is aged out. If you cant see past points and think 32 is too old to help i dont know what to tell you.
I am extremely curious as to what you want swayman for, i might trade swayman for mitts in a hearbeat if i was boston he's been pretty average so far.
Most amusingly is that in two years coyles contract would be up and sabres would be replacing him with savoie, kulich, krebs, ostlund, benson, rosen.......or if our gm and scouting are any good 5 or so of the guys picked outside the 1st round.</div></div>
Mitts is the better piece because of A points, B age and C he is just entering the upside of his career. I like Coyle but our Cup window will not start until the 24/25 season and by then Coyle will be a role player at best. As far as Swayman I have 1 question....have you seen our goalies?? LOL We have a 21 year old rookie and a 24 year old UPL who has sucked at every level since age 18. Swayman is looking pretty good right now! lol

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DDossett</b></div><div>Yep. Cuz we wanna win a cup instead of developing players. Coyle is cup run ready. The sabres as a team are not. With the soul exception of tuck. So you can throw away another year of great players on elc's and good contracts or you can trade the pieces you dont even really have room for in order to make a real run. We have a prospect system full of guys to replace coyle in a few years when cousins, thompson, quinn, krebs, are ready to be the veteran leaders with play off experience.</div></div>
But again, Coyle is not the player Mitts again, again...he is older and has less points? Your rationale makes no sense, the better player will help you get further, Mitts at this point is better than Coyle, in 2 years that trade will be a disaster for Buffalo. Literally 0 chance this happens, those moves get GM's fired. Again, Mitts for Swayman, not for you aging castaways.

I don't think Buffalo takes that trade even if you throw in 1st in 2024 and remove the 2nd you want from us. Tuch is our next captain and scored over a point a game last year and he is a crazy bargain at 4.75m for a few years and JJP is a rookie that just potted 40 points and won MVP at the Worlds.. Let me fix it for you... Tuch and JJp for Hanifin, Lindholm, Markstrom, Mangiapane and a 1st.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gretzkyghosts</b></div><div>Good ideas on this post.
<strong>First trade</strong> would be a steal for the Sabres.
Take out Jokiharju on the <strong>second trade</strong>.
Probable fair value on the <strong>third trade</strong>, not sure if the Jets need Comrie.
Too much expected from Luukkonen on the <strong>fourth trade</strong>.
The Sabres should stay away from DeBrincat and his new contract on the <strong>last trade</strong>.
Management would probably believe Jokiharju is better than Dillon, Lyubushkin or Schenn so they would definitely want to take him out of the <strong>second trade</strong>.</div></div>
I hear you, as far as Debrincat goes I would say enter talented player here...I just want someone that can play with Mitts!
As far as Olly I have zero clue what he is worth, does anybody know??
As far as Dillion and Schenn I just want to see some toughness if we make the playoffs, it also offers protection to Dahlin and Power.

My theory is this, Mitts needs someone decent to play with to make him a valuable player. He didnt do much away from the first line, he needs to play with talent, not guys like Greenway/Oloffson etc. I know its a hefty pricetag but I got a 70pt a year player and didnt touch Savoie or Levi.

And really, five 1sts and two 2nds? If you think all of those guys still have value equivalent to where they were drafted, I can't wait to see what you'd pay for 1st round talent Mike McCarron.</div></div>
Read it too quickly, my bad.. And yes, every one of those players is the equivalent of a first round pick with the possible exception of UPL who is worth a 2 or 3.

I would never consider those trades if i am GMKA. Quinn will be just as good as Debrincat and you will have him under cost control let alone also throwing in Johnson and a second and Savoie is a HUGE overpay for Parayko whose contract blows.
