2025-26 with Demigod
Still a lot of gaps to fill before CHI finishes 22nd in the league. That means, another top 5 pick in 2025 as well

Possible. Just depends on if Lindstrom is higher on their list, which I think he is

If Silayev went somewhere here, it would be Utah at 6. The top 5 really seems to be trending towards that direction

Silayev will go before the Sens pick . So one of Iginla/Parekh will be on the board</div></div>
1. Celebrini, that's a lock
2. Demidov, don't see CHI skipping on a Bedard-Demidov duo
3. Lev, ANA 100% picks him with this opportunity.
4. Lindstrom. It seems like its been a decent amount of time that Lindstrom to CLB will happen if the chance is there
5. Iginla. Only way its not would be Sennecke here, but Tij seems like someone Hughes would prize
6. Parekh. Utah gets the best RD on the board

Not too sure either is available. I think MTL takes Tij at 5, and Utah gets Parekh 6. That should leave Catton or Sennecke

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Renegade_H</b></div><div>Probably easily could be had at 12. Id trade 12 and 26 for 5. Flyers need Lindstrom or Catton secured.</div></div>
Personally, highly doubt he’s here at 12:
ANA
MTL
OTT
NJD
Maybe:
CLB
CGY
These teams definitely could end up drafting Sennecke, he fits a need, and has the talent.
Doubt MTL trades down from 5 to 12 for only a late 1st, they probably want to secure the forward they want, whether it is Iginla, Lindstrom, or Sennecke

He is a very good skater, and has great hands, so essentially, has a very good toolset already. Then we add in the fact that he has a strong hockey IQ as well, so he knows how to use his tools to be the most effective possible. He has all that he needs to be a top line guy, so he just needs to find a bit of consistency. Also, not to forget, he is extremely clutch, and gets points when it’s important, such as the playoffs

This is just the forward rankings, so not including the defense.
Personally, with who will be left on the board and all, I think PHI will get a choice of Helenius, Buium/Silayev, or maybe Catton

He has the talent, no doubt. But he just got the bag, and as of now, seems like he genuinely doesn't care. If he puts no effort, it doesn't matter who he plays with, he'll just drag his line down

We get that PLDs contract is bad, but sending bad older pieces doesn't exactly solve any problems for LA.</div></div>
I mean, saving 2 mil for the next 3 years, and 8.5 for the 4 after doesn't seem like a bad idea for LA. Probably the reason why MTL will not be going after PLD in the next 8 years...

It is why we have seen so many big fellas bust out in recent years…(and inversely why we have seen so many littles underdrafted).
So I think “size” risk can work both ways.</div></div>
True true. However If we’re looking at examples such as Lindstrom specifically, he is so good even without particularly using his size. Even if he has trouble using it in the NHL, he will find another way to get points, similar to how Dach plays for example. But definitely a guy like Greentree or even Sennecke (although he also doesn’t seem crazily size dependent) will need to adapt to the NHL

As it seems, I think Stiga won't be too high on Hughes's list, due to size. But I do like the player

Gotta trade Marner, and acquire a top pair D (whether it is in the same trade or not). Probably have to replace Samsonov (he was great tonight, don’t think he’s it though), and get a better goalie, so a good tandem can be made with Woll and the other goalie.
With all of that, I would think there would be a bit of cap space available, so it’s now just upgrading some of the bottom line players.
A deep run will happen eventually, just gotta shake up some things imo, but nothing absolutely absurd.
Also, firing Keefe wouldn’t be the worst idea at this point.

Marner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>^ ^ ^</div></div>
3 major differences between Tkachuk and Marner:
1. Tkachuk was 24 at the time of the trade Marner will be 27, that does play in a bit
2. Tkachuk was an RFA, Marner will be a UFA in a year
3. Tkachuk is a power forward and extremely good playoff performer and super clutch player, while Marner doesn't have any true "extra factors", yes he's skilled, but he isn't a game-breaker like Tkachuk is
