Lets Dream Together

Created by: BrianCampbell
Team: 2024-25 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: May 24, 2024
Published: May 24, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Dream: Everyone is healthy, having career average or better years. 24 and Under all take next step. Hawks make wildcard. Dont get swept in round 1.

Thoughts: Kane would be the perfect winger for Nazar. Both think at a high level, Kane can drive line to take pressure off Nazar. Reichel played well with Kane and would find his game again.

Lee is a great player just not worth his complete cap. Hawks take advantage of cap and collect an asset and good player.

Other are cap dumps that fill a role short term.

Hawks need a backup they can at least trust to keep them in most games in Mrazek get injured or has a bad year.

Still cap to sign Leon next year once Hall, AA, and Donato come off the cap. Hawks to the moon!

I'd do that Holl deal but I doubt CHI would.

After today's trade, think it's safe to say Lee or JGP to the Hawks this off season is probably not happening now. $9m for Kane is nuts.

That trade came through mid ACGM, but i went ahead anyway. But I agree. And as far as 9m for Kane, that pencils from a tickets and jersey sales, helps the roster get better. Only way it doesnt work out is if Kaner values Chance to win 4th Cup > Money and fans that love him unconditionally

RE: Mikheyev

I think that's a fair value deal for VAN. But, GM Alvin didn't sound too interested in getting rid of Mik, so I guess that's noteworthy

Moving back 20 spots from mid 2nd to the start of the 3rd vs His buyout $1.13M x 4

Pretty close

Makes a buyout for Petry doable. Dropping 20 spots to get those two the hell out of this organization is worth it for me.

The top 6 would get destroyed in the d zone

Thats what someone who wants to keep a little leverage would say though. If he says "yeah, we gotta get that contract outta here" the only thing he can leverage is other teams against each other.

Fair, you could slide Lee or Dickinson up if needed.

Wouldn't do that Isles trade, but it's already a moot point anyway.

Yeah, I'm happy we got the isles pick without giving up 34OA, which is basically a late first

Buying out Petry wouldn't even give us $1M cap space. We are stuck with Petry for another season.

Zero interest in buying him out for the cap space.

Buy him out because he's not an NHL caliber player anymore.
