On second thought, make it Perreault & Trouba

Draisaitl Rantanen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bedsy_Burner</b></div><div>That is a fair point. I guess it depends if Kyle even considers Rantanen a long term target, or if he wants to continue collecting younger players and/or draft capital. In a vacuum, I think Othmann and the high end pedigree reclamation project of Kakko should be enough to take on Trouba's 2 years. But yeah, Rantanen would definitely be my target, if KD wants to go that direction.</div></div>
It has always been my belief that next offseason is when the Hawks go big game hunting, especially with some of the players that could be available. IF Rantanen, Marner and DraisaitL hit the market, Davidson has to shoot his shot, they could be this generation’s Hossa.
Now, if those players don’t make it to FA or it becomes very apparent that the Hawks are going to miss out on the top dogs then yes I think the package offered above is definitely intriguing… especially Othmann.

Pass, I would rather the Hawks go after Rantanen themselves so I wouldn’t want to help the Rangers create cap flexibility to go after him.

I like the idea of that Chicago trade. What I would suggest is Chicago retaining half of Murphy's contract if you swap the 3rd with a 2nd. I'm very high on Emery and was peeved when Chicago traded back into the 1st round with Emery still on the board and selecting Vanacker.

let me know how i can these trades more fair
I think most of us Chicago fans are still reeling after day one of free agency. What happened wasn't in line with the game play Davidson laid out previously. I know he promised the team would be more talented next season but none of us expected all those signings. With that said, we already have odd men out in the bottom six now so I really don't see Chicago having interest at any price.

That’s not close to being enough to take on Kampf, even if the Hawks had room for him, which they don’t.
You did ask how to make it more fair but don’t bother, after signing 8 players Monday, there is no deal to be made sending Kampf back to Chicago.

2 year plan
Reichel isn't a center. That experiment failed miserably last season. And Hawks already have several C prospects who are as good or better than Minten. And I'm not sure the Hawks would value Lilypad or Niemela enough to trade away Dickinson and a 2nd. Doubt either team makes this deal.

No thanks. Hawks still have plenty of prospects in the pipeline that are potentially the answer at C. Also, Reichel did not fair well at C last year when given an opportunity. Not to say it’s completely out of the question but as of right now it looks unlikely.
Nice troll post putting McLeod in there. Why don’t the Leafs sign Carter Hart since they need help in goal.

Personally don’t like this trade for Chicago. Keep Dickinson especially if he repeats last year’s performance. Next season some of our AHL prospects will be ready to make the jump into the bottom 6. And Reichel needs to show this year that he is someone to build around. He hasn’t yet.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bedsy_Burner</b></div><div>Not ancient history. Very recent history. These right wing conspiracy theorist nut bags are not good people. So, if he is one of those, I wouldn't want it on my team or near my impressionable developing young players, and from what I understand, he is one of those people. Brodie has a long career of VERY good defensive play, and one or two seasons of some poor play. Regardless of whether he can still execute, he brings experience, knowledge, and leadership. I'd rather have that experience than a dip $hit who is pretty good at hockey filling young players minds with conspiracy theory bull$hit.
Also, there is nothing wrong with this trade. Copp with $2M retained is not a bad center to have around for a few years. Add in the 2nd round pick, and I'm good with it. Especially considering we have too many wings and not enough centers on the NHL roster, currently. And he has one less year than Bertuzzi.</div></div>
Well count me as one of those who is excited to see Bert playing on Bedsy's wing and will be cheering for him from sec 316 in the UC.

Garak, I have appreciated conversing with you. You are definitely a higher level of hockey enthusiast & I am grateful for you sharing. To better times for the Hawks.
To the other fan bases, yeah I’ve yelled at you some. & to a couple of trolls, I’ve talked ****. But honestly, I love talking hockey & would rather talk hockey than about politics, the state of the world , the price of goods , etc etc. So, I will miss you too, even if I don’t agree with you.

If you didn’t notice, the Hawks loaded up in FA yesterday, they no longer have the room or cap space to take other team’s unwanted players.
They definitely aren’t paying for any.
