Pens decline. You have the 3rd going the wrong way. They aren’t taking on another decent contract without getting a pick for it.

If you think PIT is trading a 3rd, or anything at all, for Cody Ceci then you must have foreign substances in your system.

Because most teams not named Oilers would decline.

Habs are not trading for Kane. They probably don't pick him up on waivers - I'm not joking.
Armia has only one year left on his contract and isn't paid much and Habs will keep him for the year.

BUT... that being said...Edmonton can easily find a suitor for Kane. Maybe for a 5th round pick to Carolina?

Considering how Ceci played in the cup finals I could see someone taking him, but I can't imagine it would be for anything other than FC at best. More likely that a 3rd would need to be added at minimum.

Nope. You can, however, pay Montreal to help you out of that Kane contract. We will not be paying you for it though.

I can agree MTL isn’t trading for Kane doesn’t make sense for them. But I disagree when it comes to his value he is worth a lot more than just a 5th he scored 25 goals last year when he wasn’t even healthy and is still very effective physically and tough to play against when he isn’t scoring.

I don't see a trade fit for any one of the non-Oilers teams here.

He's got a full NMC with serious off-ice question marks. There's a reason Edmonton got him for basically nothing and signed him for a below-market contract in the first place. You have to find a team okay with the off-ice stuff, cap space long term and that Kane is cool with going to.

I think its more of a question if Kane is LTIR bound for the season or not.

I mean you talk about this off ice stuff but what has he done off the ice that has been bad with his time in Edmonton? There’s a lots of teams looking for top 6 physical wingers all the time.

The first point is an argument for him staying in Edmonton, not trading him. The second point is that the number of teams looking for a winger like Kane is far less important than the number of teams that would want Kane that Kane would be willing to go to. Because that # could easily be zero - its up to Kane.

Agreed I just truly don’t believe oilers have to pay to get rid of him like everyone thinks. Personally I think the oilers could easily package Kane, 1st and maybe a prospect like Bourgault for a top 4RD and then pay to dump Ceci and trade kulak for some draft capital.
