Pre-Draft
No way Perron signs his big UFA contract for only a year and a 3 million dollar discount.
Buffalo needs to add considerably. Fowler > 8th oa. Ducks 1st > Stoner.
The #8 and #24 picks won't get you anywhere near the 2nd overall.

I don't see the Ducks taking anyone on in trade just to buy them out, otherwise it's not bad. It's basically quantity for quality with Fowler, I'd probably prefer more of a 1 for 1 swap to get a high end young forward if we move Cam, but with so many holes up front, you've done well addressing them.

Attempt#2
I'd love to get Hamonic, but I don't get what we solve with a Fowler-Hamonic swap. Also, Vats is undervalued both in terms of his next payday and his trade return.

16/17 Ducks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ducks11</b></div><div><i>I can't imagine the Leafs wanting to take Andersen, Stoner and retain $2M. That means they would be basically paying Andersen and Stoner $10.25M/year. You could get a much better goalie/defenseman combo for $10M.
Also, really hope Pirri won't get as much as Rakell. He had a decent year a while back, but was injured/scratched a majority of the past season. If he wants $3M, you let him walk. The Ducks let Perrault walk and I think he was better at the time.</i></div></div>
That would be a bridge deal for Rakell, that's the only reason he'd make close to what Pirri might, and Pirri has arbitration rights, so getting him super cheap might not be possible. I agree though, if Pirri is looking for much beyond a couple million, cut him loose.
Solid proposal from the OP, very realistic. I'm not in love with that 3rd line though, and I think I'd prefer an affordable roster player for Despres rather than just a pick (though a Coyotes 2nd is great value), so maybe that can solve itself with another trade option.

Ducks w/ Nash
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>danzhock10</b></div><div><i><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Palhal</b></div><div><i>Hi DTN, no sure if the Ducks really want to trade Andersen, but you're correct they need a goalie in return....and more.</i></div></div>
Um..no. The Ducks have a goalie waiting behind Gibson--Bobkov. If they moved Andersen, they have the depth of Gibson-Bobkov ready to go. They have Khudobin, now..if need be, he can be re-signed for depth purposes. If the Ducks need a goalie, they could likely get Skapski in the Nash deal.</i></div></div>
???
Bobkov is gone, he was an ECHL goalie at best and when the Ducks elected not to give him a qualifying offer, he went to the KHL. Khudobin also already said he would play in the KHL next season. So the Ducks don't really have goalie depth to speak of beyond Andersen and Gibson. They might re-sign Tokarski for the Gulls, and Hackett is still trying to show that he can hang in the AHL.
Murray definitely needs to move one of his goalies to save money, and he'll need to find a cheap, reliable backup afterwards. DontTradeNash is right on with what he proposed. And overall, it's not a bad roster proposal, his trades and contract values are pretty realistic. I just don't see Nash being the right target for this team, we need cheaper young talent that can grow with the team, and Nash is on the decline.

Ducks with Nash.
I'm assuming the creator is trying to illustrate how unrealistic it would be to try and add Nash to this team... I think? Hard pass on Nash for Vats + Ritchie (though it isn't that far off of what a trade package might look like). Andersen and McGinn are way overpaid above, but all the other estimates look solid.

Let's not get carried away, Lindholm alone probably gets it done, not even sure the Ducks would do it regardless. But I agree that the creator isn't offering nearly enough. Hall is one of the top LW's in the game, and still in his prime, no way can he be had for a #4D with concussion issues (Despres), a frequent waiver wire visitor (Wagner), and an RFA we just picked up for a 6th (Pirri).

A Canucks fan's stab at the Ducks' roster
Not bad. It's too rich for our blood though, we aren't a cap team and will need to come it at a few million less. Stoner has to go, which would bring us closer to a realistic total cap hit. I don't see Vatanen getting as much as Lindholm, but Lindholm's rate is pretty spot on imo, assuming he doesn't get a bridge deal. I don't see Ladd being had for that price, thanks to Kesler and other similar deals, he can be sure to get something in the neighborhood of 6 million and 4 or more years. Would love to add him though. You have the right idea with Fowler returning young cheap forward talent, but we'll need players more ready to make an immediate impact.

Viking For Life
Pretty good, you definitely have the right idea with moving a D and a G to add two more talented forwards. Garbutt on the top line is hard on the eyes though. Nitpicking, I think the rates for Andersen and Rakell are a touch too high, while Lindholm and Vatanen are a little low (especially the three year term for Vats). I'm guessing that Fowler would net Nyquist + (nothing huge), and E. Lindholm would net slightly more than Andersen alone.
Oh, and Khudobin already stated that he would be going back to the KHL next season.

Yeah, this one is a little goofy, but the creator did say he was "just messing around". Not sure what the point of publishing it was though.

Not bad, the cap hit and salaries are realistic. I'd prefer to see Andersen being the one traded for a late 1st or early 2nd, and Vatanen being traded for a semi-impact forward. Those forward lines aren't going anywhere, more firepower will be needed.
