Hi DTN, no sure if the Ducks really want to trade Andersen, but you're correct they need a goalie in return....and more.

Wow seeing a Ducks team giving up so much for Nash is crazy, must be a Rangers fan in disguise but other than that I agree with the Ducks need a Goalie and maybe Nash plus Halverson or Hedberg preferably goes to get Vataanen without retaining salary?

Um..no. The Ducks have a goalie waiting behind Gibson--Bobkov. If they moved Andersen, they have the depth of Gibson-Bobkov ready to go. They have Khudobin, now..if need be, he can be re-signed for depth purposes. If the Ducks need a goalie, they could likely get Skapski in the Nash deal.

      ???

Bobkov is gone, he was an ECHL goalie at best and when the Ducks elected not to give him a qualifying offer, he went to the KHL. Khudobin also already said he would play in the KHL next season. So the Ducks don't really have goalie depth to speak of beyond Andersen and Gibson. They might re-sign Tokarski for the Gulls, and Hackett is still trying to show that he can hang in the AHL.

Murray definitely needs to move one of his goalies to save money, and he'll need to find a cheap, reliable backup afterwards. DontTradeNash is right on with what he proposed. And overall, it's not a bad roster proposal, his trades and contract values are pretty realistic. I just don't see Nash being the right target for this team, we need cheaper young talent that can grow with the team, and Nash is on the decline.
