That’s a steal if he continues his form! But something needs to be done about the tax advantage some teams get by their state

Solid deal for the Panthers IMO. Gives them room to remain competitive and keep some other important guys.

Good deal, but unfair, no team team with regular taxation would have been able to get a deal like this!

that's basically his projection before its 57 goals season and before winning the cup

so it's a discount for FLA

I hope Reinhart made sure he's full of bonus and has a near perfect trade protection

Or he as he stated could have loved living in South Florida, and felt this was enough to keep winning . Not every player is Marner Mathews or McDavid who want absolutely every dollar they can get. Some players prioritize winning Cups over Max dollars. Here comes the Crybaby Bull💩 about "Tax cheat"

You can't explain Florida's recent success by just saying they're no-tax, because it doesn't explain why they've been bad for so long. If you're gonna go that route, then the onerous is on other states/provinces to follow suite.

If you're going to adjust for "taxation advantages "you must then also adjust for the far superior endorsement opportunities in the Toronto's, Montreal's of the league have as well, but you'll find some lame bull💩reason that's not the same thing.

Those other states and provinces have made their choices on how they wish to govern. Why should Florida be punished for it? Everyone wants no repercussions for their decisions and wants to punish others for success. Find another thing to complain about, this one is weak sauce.

Great signing.

I don't remember any giving the lightning or Panthers discounts until they started winning maybe other teams should get better scouting management and win more and players will take less to stay there too. Both Florida teams owners also according to players treat the players first rate not all owners do a lot of lightning players say Jeff Vinniks treats their families and things like that play a part also.

I have seen the money hockey players make with endorsements and it’s not that much!

Last time when Stamkos was hitting UFA they had that week long legal tampering period Toronto brought in the CEO of Canadian Tire explaining the endorsements that he could make. Teams don't do that unless the numbers are significant. Are the always? No probably not . But you think teams wouldn't offer x advertising dollars to get said company is give a big endorsement deal to a player? Please tell me you're not that nieve.

Elections have consequences. If you think being taxed to death in NY or CA is a good idea, keep electing incumbents. If you prefer the way Tennessee and Florida do things, elect politicians who will do something about it. Florida doesn't just have an advantage in hockey but also in day-to-day life.

Even NY, MA and CA look good compared to Canada. They keep electing Marxists and they may never see a cup again.

Wow. You're dumb.

Do you know how often Florida has to beg the federal government for disaster relief. Maybe they should stop doing that.

For less than Jake Gentzel and is a better player so it’s a win.

In the real world he should have signed for 7 years for $69 million ($9.85 AAV) but the tax cheat strikes again.

Thank you Florida Governor, you are clueless.

Jake's agent structured the deal better. So in the regard, his deal is not as good for the player.

I don't think anyone could have paid him based off his stats this year. They are kind of inflated, no one is expecting that to reoccur.
But if you give him a lower to mid 30s goal ranger and 70-80 points per, it's a pretty fair deal.
I think like Jake the deal is a little high, but mainly because he's not a franchise level player and the pay is getting close. He's a really good winger though.
I think as the cap goes up this looks better. But for now, I think we keep seeing an escalation in prices and it's creating a have and have not league.
The bottom is getting squeezed dry while the top is getting overly heavy.
Sam's a good player but you aren't going to build a franchise around him, he's jut a piece. But the pay is getting really close to someone you'd build a team around.
I just don't think that's the wisest way for teams to build.
