I would have thought that of all teams, Edmonton fans would be familiar with the special contract under which Connor Brown played this season and for which Viktor Arvidsson qualifies.

Arvidsson wont be looking for a contract like Brown's, he wants term, also back injuries are in a different situation compared to ACL

teams like the blackhawks are going after people like Ilya Mikheyev, there's better options in FA but face it, team like the ducks do not have that pull unless they overpay.

The Hawks are in the early stages of a rebuild. The Ducks are trying to exit theirs.

Will gladly see ANA overpay if the alternative is Ceci. Especially if an overpay is the likes of Gudas’ 3x$4M. Happy selling

I mean looking at Gudas he didnt have a single defensive pair partner where their GF% was above 40%, where as Ceci was, not to mention the numbers with fowler look abysmal. Ceci is an upgrade in some senses. The ducks wont be going fullout, while edmonton can view this as a dump, this isnt a dump intake for the Ducks

Sharks don't necessarily have use for another mid tier Center.. I could see them taking a flyer on McLeod though, since he's young, fast, and not undersized.

-6.7% rel Corsi, -7.3% rel Fenwick for $3.25M and looks garbage to the good ol fashioned eye test. Ceci isn’t an addition to any NHL roster.

The Ducks 2 RHD are Gudas and Lindstrom. Both are far and away preferable. Ceci is of zero interest, and it’s not remotely close tbh. Glad you think he’s got some value. EDM is stuck with him unless they give an attractive enough pick to someone else to take him

stats used for offense rather then defensive pairs. Anyway if the Ducks want to sign a D-man, they will have to overpay and overterm for a team that has not made the playoffs and that is the facts unless they can find some really really good value contracts. Ceci is a 1 year rental, not an overterm.

How about we compare it to a single comp? Nurse has been hated on by EDM for his play, starts his shifts in the dzone at nearly an identical rate, and was even paired with Ceci for much of the year. Corsi -1.9 fenwick -2.2 for Ceci

Love the certainty that this Southern California team will have to overpay. You know both the RHD we have that outperformed Ceci came to ANA this past year? Gudas is only 750k more than Ceci on a 3yr deal 🤯 and we have Lindstrom under team control as an RFA. Hell, I’ll still prefer to overpay someone good versus take Ceci
