It's not as if you're doing anything with Frank.

I’m not sure why the Islanders make that deal, but Hawks would accept.

What are you even talking about? 60 points, 37 goals, making under $3,700,000

If you really want him, offer something that wouldn’t make Verbeek laugh Lou off the phone

Admittedly I'm at work so most of these trades are rushed AF. But we'd be selling Palms high.

Palmeiri has been better than Athanasiou over the past few years, and each is only signed for one more year. Even if we assume both players will leash an equally next year, you’re saving $2.25 million against the cap in exchange for a 1st round pick. Hawks would trade Athanasiou with retention for a 1st round pick even without getting Palmeri back.

His shooting was abnormally high. And the Ducks have been the worst team I've seen live in a while. I wish you the best, but I don't see why Frank would come back to ANH. I can admit, that trade probably needs some picks or prospects added, but Wahlstrom is still talented with a decently high ceilling.

Isles would be fleecing themselves on that CHI trade. But CHI definitely accepts.

No,Wahlstrom is a bust and Frank was shooting 13.6% which is in line with other seasons that he has shot 13% even regressing down to 11% he's still a 30+ goal scorer.

Wahlstrom has had four seasons to prove that he is talented. He isn't. He has no ceiling, let alone a high one. Over his last 140 games he has recorded 46 points, which is a third of a point per game. He's a bust with an injury history. In contrast, Vatrano has improved every season on a bad team and we expect similar productivity from him this year, and even at his full cap hit of $3.65 million, he'll be cheaper than 6 of your forwards and likely to outscore all but three of them. Moreover, he's missed one game in the last two seasons. Without retention, we might accept the Tampa first for him and take Wahlstrom as a throw-in.

I always wondered if Jarmo felt bad every time he let Bowman make another boneheaded trade with Columbus.

Jarmo hired Babcock so I doubt he cares about anyone else.

Wahlly tore his ACL. He has the talent, and is still young enough to recover. And he's an RFA. The isles have a lot of depth at RW, so no, he didn't play, but he definitely has talent and will be back.

I think you're grossly under valuing Wahlstrom, and grossly over valuing Vatrano who is benefitting from a team with no depth that teams don't take seriously, and got a lot of goals early in the season. But you're right, better to wait until the deadline, hoping he recreates last season.
