Ya. I dont see any team retaining on a brand new contract. Locking in a retention spot for 3 years is a big ask. Thats also a very heavy price TO would probably not want to pay to get it done either.

No, they don't. Timmins isn't worth moving down a round when they can just claim him on waivers before the season starts.

You also have to remember that 20% of 4,000,000 is only 800,000, I feel like the market for players that the leafs need to fill in the gaps are too great this year to let it pass. Also, our window to win is closing. Who knows when the leafs would see another player like Austin Matthews and Nylander

Signed him to a 3 year contract. 3 X 4M. 20 percent of 4M is only 800,000 which is most definitely doable for Anaheim and they’re getting an offensive minded young right shot d man and a few late draft picks.

Timmins is signed next season. Also, you’re gonna move down from a 6th to a 7th. That guy is going to turn out to be a stud eh?😂 clown

    1) moving down a round? lol You know that everything after the first couple rounds is just pure darts on a dartboard right? Statistically, there is no difference in likelihood of a quality player in round 5 or 6.

    2) Timmins isn't on waivers. And there is no reason to believe the Leafs will put him on waivers. They could have done it last year and didn't. And in fact, he has never been put on waivers in his career. Sooooo.......

I understand that. I dont see the Leafs paying it. And as I said, teams only get 2 retention spots. Locking one up for 3 years is not a good idea from ANA perspective.

You do realize Timmins has ZERO value right? So yeah, I'd rather keep the 6th and hope for a miracle than waste time with a sub-replacement level player who can't stick in a lineup anywhere.

CHI isnt looking for value. They are looking for warm bodies on contracts that are short and will help them get to the cap floor while they rebuild. Timmins is exactly the type of guy they would want. Young, no risk, possible upside, can play NHL mins, and with a contract that ends soon so it doesnt tie them up. I think we are overthinking this to be honest. But I still think its very possible,

They can find any number of guys like that for league minimum as UFAs and they can keep their 6th.

Instead of pick #52 in this year's draft, you guys should seriously consider Washington's own second in 2025, which they might be more disposed to relinquish since they have two other seconds next summer (and only the Vegas pick this year). I think that the team most likely to suffer a significant fall in the standings next season is the Capitals despite their acquisition of Pierre-Luc Of-The-Woods.

Yup Chicago says no, and the next time you decide to try and dump a contract, start with giving better picks... actually if you decide to call one of us Chicago AGMs better talk first round picks to Chi or don't bother...

MN has enough washed up 3rd and 4th liners, but might do it for the 2nd rounder straight and no retention
