You would have to pay to offload any of those two players at full cap hit... I guess Jack Drury can go **** himself... you named it "sandpaper" and the only full sandpaper guy you got is Keegan Koleslaw, a 4th liner, that you put on the 3rd line. lol

Burns isn't so bad for his cap hit but he just doesn't fit with what the Hurricanes need in a first pairing defensemen. I mean it was more about physicality then sandpaper and trying to balance skill and physicality. Kulikov, Montour and Kolesar are all very physical while also being able to produce offense.

The Sharks would take Burns back at full cap hit for free.

I just disagree. maybe kotka cuz the term but plenty of teams that are retooling or rebuilding that may take him for free or even pay a mid-late pick for.
Burns is still a solid Dman, overpaid a bit maybe but there should be a team or 2 that needs to reach the cap floor or that wants to add a RD without having to give anything up and would take him for free.

Especially if they get their retention slot back.

Wrong actually! Burns is still a 40 point RHD for a reasonable cap hit, and KK is still a young defensive C and there’s no way he’ll have a year as unlucky as this past one again, you pay for him, or the canes will keep him

They're not adding enough. The cap savings will be huge and Perfetti is a future 1st line forward who might be better than Necas in 2 years time.

Okay so what do you suggest Carolina adding? There is nobody of interest on the Jets besides him considering the Hurricanes needs and what they will pay for.

Need to up the 3rd to a 2nd, and add Chatfield.

That is probably more than what Perfetti is worth but you'll have to pry him from Winnipeg if you want him. The reason I don't think the Jets should be in on Necas is because they already have 3 or 4 big money forwards to pay by next year, and adding one more will make it hard for them to improve their defense, especially when players like Samberg and Heinola will have raises next offseason.

If I were a Canes fans I'd want Carolina to trade Necas for futures. This increases the amount of teams bidding for Necas, so Carolina gets the best return possible, the'll bring in no cap cost so they can resign their own free agents, and they can accrue cap space and be very aggressive at the trade deadline with their draft and prospect capital.

I would probably like to see Carolina deal him for futures too... maybe a A- or B+ prospect + a pick.

    lol

Burns is going to be 40 next year. He's also a "40 point RHD" on a stacked team... ship him to a bum team, combined with age, will surely lead to a dip in production.

"KK" was "unlucky" this year? Okay... what was his excuse the two years prior to this one? As a NYR fan, please keep him!

canucks may havw intrest in kk but we’ll only take him if mikeyes going the other way or you give us a second or other high draft pics to drop mik which is very unlikely so canucks decline if miks not part of that trade

Two years ago his PPG was still higher than this season, as a canes fan, please keep Jacob Trouba!

Yes SJ takes Burns back for nothing so we can get the Slot back and he would solve out RHD PPG

The whole point of trading KK is freeing up a roster space and cap and taking back cap is probably not going to happen
