That OS doesn’t seem smart

I think that Durzi is really good, but I feel like hes not going to be a true number 1, I also think Utah has more picks than they know what to do with, and they will probably make the playoffs.

This is one of those “depends on what people smarter than me think” trades.

If CBJ think they can be the ones to put Hayton where he needs to be to succeed, than sure. I’d maybe ask for some condition to turn that ‘25 2nd into a 1st (however complicated that may be).

I like the cbj trade for us. Gives us another youngish center to try out and maybe he becomes our gabe vilardi.

CBJ should reject. The problem is the Jackets are taking the greater risk here. The 2nd is likely to be more like a 3rd. And Hayton has not shown to be anything like his draft position indicates he should be. Laine has had problems staying in the lineup but he does have nagging injuries and when healthy has proven to be a near ppg player. I would prefer that the Jackets just take Utah’s 2nd round picks in 2024 and 2025. We already have too many bottom 6 players and Hayton just complicates things even further.
