I like Laine. I'd probably be willing to take a chance on him with retention. I'm not giving up this much for a guy that missed the vast majority of this season and hasn't played more then 60 games in like 5 years though. I'd prob max out at like Lysell and a mid round pick.

No thanks, Laine is awful defensively. He is basically just a shooter. The Bruins need a passing center

That would work for Columbus. And to the first commenter, Laine got cheap-shotted in the first week of the season and missed most of the rest of the year as a result. He's more durable than you're letting on.

I’m curious if an Ullmark for Laine at this retention level. I see no reason to give up Lysell or a pick. It’s an overpay with his recent production and him wanting out,

2 years, 6.7M AAV for him might be worth Ullmark.

That top 6 looks slick, but that Laine contract it very pricey

Ullmark saves you from making this mistake by blocking.

Let Laine be someone else’s problem

Keep Ullmark and move him to a contender that'll pay more for him.

Put conditions on the 3rd where it upgrades to a 2nd if he plays 60+ and a 1st if he scores 30+ and I think we're listening.
