Why would the Habs do that? Both Barron and Farrell have 2nd round value, you are basically giving one away for free

Farrell definitly doesn't have 2nd round value imo. He hasn't proved he can play in the nhl and was a 4th round pick. I think the trade is fair if Kent Hughes wants to get rid of Barron.

I woudn't. No need for Heinola as were loaded in LD and I'd rather have Beck than Chibrikov.

I agree Farrell hasn't proven anything yet, but i dont know why we are giving away our NHL level defensemen instead of selling them. Poor asset management.

The value is not bad tho. Like I probably value Barron as a 2nd rounder and Farrell for Julien is probably fair. I don't know much about Julien but is stats are decent for a 6'4 forward and Farrell hasn't been impresive this season.

What do you value Barron at? It's an early 2nd rounder for him. I think that's fair.

Ok, but you are still giving up value. Either remove Farrell or add a mid pick. First pro season didnt go as well as it could have, i dont think its time to give up on him for nothing.

I agree we don't have to give up on him but you're getting an interesting prospect back. It's not nothing.

A yes from the Isles! We need this. I'll let you have a no holds barred night with Barzy to sweeten the deal.

Yeah, you can always count on a Montreal fan to be completely out to lunch on player values.

If Appleton can get better at faceoffs then that deal is not too bad for the Isles. Their middle six needs a shakeup and if he can replace for Pageau (who I believe will be traded regardless of what else happens for NYI) then this could be a useful trade for both the present and down the road. Obviously picks would probably have to be adjusted for fairness because it seems like WPG is giving more than they're getting here.
