We should not trade Protas. Especially when we might draft his brother.

6'6" NHL caliber players do not grow on trees

be honest, he’s not very good and he doesn’t even use his 6’6 frame

I like him a lot actually, he isn't on the team to be a 30 goal scorer. He is smart in all three zones and uses his body for blocks and screens.

Additionally, he is just coming out of his ELC. He will continue to grow into his body

meh i guess, he just doesn’t produce and doesn’t get deep in corners, we also have better defenders too

I like him in our middle 6. He has plenty of room to grow with the team.

Did you not like Tom Wilson when he first joined the team?

Hawks have zero need for Kuemper and the picks that are coming with him aren't enough to eat that contract. Chicago passes.

Wilson has something Pro doesn’t, the ability to produce

It's unlikely Winnipeg targets a massive downgrade at wing for some really lousy pucks. They get about 5 times as much just for Ehlers as a rental.

Yup. When it's a 13th/ 14th forward and some meaningless late round picks.

Ok but that still doesn't change the fact that Chicago has zero need for him or his contract.

First off - you can't say a player is not good and then try to convince others that he would be a top 6 player...

Second - Protas is definitely not a 13th/14th forward haha seems like you don't watch the Caps very often (understandably if you aren't a Caps fan)...but I would do your research before you say an absurd comment like that...

A career high of 29 points, makes him a 4th liner at best. 13/14th forward isn't a stretch on a good team.

However, you want to look at it his value is extremely low.

You obviously don't know his game at all. While point production is low (first full year as a NHLer), he is only 23 and plays a fantastic two-way game. He is very defensively responsible, has a huge frame (6'6), and is pretty fast for his size. He is a perfect 3rd line winger.

It's okay to not know this, but you shouldn't throw out crazy statements without any research/knowledge, buddy.

You shouldn't throw out silliness based on emotion because you like the guy. He doesn't score enough to be a 3rd liner. He's a dime a dozen plug at this point. Easily found, extremely replaceable, basically no value.

Bad assumption on Necas. Yes, reports are he wants out and team is open to trading him. He’s an RFA tho with limited leverage. Canes can just bring him back for another couple years versus getting a bunch of nothing.
