San Jose gets 20 goal scorer in Fabri and a top prospect in Berggren to take on 5.625mil in Copp for the price of moving back to 3rd instead of 2nd. Not a bad deal if you're San Jose and need to get off the cap floor

Yeah, nothing about any of that moves the rebuild needle.

San Jose gets 20 goal scorer in Fabri and a top prospect in Berggren to take on 5.625mil in Copp for the price of moving back to 3rd instead of 2nd. Not a bad deal if you're San Jose and need to get off the cap floor

That prospect is an undersized winger that the Sharks don't need at this point.

Our payment for taking a worse goalie the other way is Jeff Petry, who's a cap dump........

Berggren isn’t a top prospect, a 23 yo isn’t a prospect. That’s also a 3 year contract for Copp who scored way under his cap hit. Same with Fabbri who has never scored 20 goals in a season in his career.

I’m totally in favor of ANA moving Gibby, but this offer would be an insanely easy decline

Let me correct this

San Jose gets Cap dump in Fabri and a tiny prospect that Grier has been moving all the tiny guys in Berggren to take on 5.625mil in Copp for the price of moving back to 3rd instead of 2nd. A bad deal if you're San Jose and since SJ will have no problem to get off the cap floor they can find other productive cap dumps and get a sweetener

So Berggren = 3rd rounder

Fabbri cap dump = Late round pick (4th maybe) - he's fine and his contract isn't a burden but it's still a cap clearing move for Detroit.

Copp cap dump = 1st rounder - dude is making almost $6 mill to put up barely over 30 points for the next 3 years. Big offload.

Sharks will not be adding the more valuable pick here lol.
