Quoting: Garak
lol. Right... An injury prone overpaid player in decline... Nah. I'll stick with "might accept". If you actually dig into CHI's roster, current situation, and what they have stated they are trying to do going into next season, there isn't a lot of space for streaky injury prone cap dumps. Sorry, my guy.
On a lot of CHI (majority) trades, I tend to agree with the local fan base. Here however is a wildly misconstrued view.
At 1 x 4, Fabs will be giving more production than UFAs who sign at that AAV. He also doesn’t carry extra term, lowering risk. Added to the term, it also makes it easier to move him with retention.
I completely get the injury concern, very warranted. In saying that, last year he did slightly overcome that. He was consistently out there at big moments on PPs, and taking key draws (very solid FO%). Worst case scenario he goes on LTIR and the 4M means nothing. Best case scenario is he gets near or hits 20 goals, provides Chicago a bit more offense, and returns around what you received to get him in the first place.
Detroit wouldn’t be looking to dump him, especially when there are several other more pressing concerns.
