When Arizona moved OEL and Garland to Vancouver it was a similar situation to Ekblad and Lundell. That fetched 9th OVR, 2nd year after and 7th year after that. This is a higher payment for similar situation players with more pedigree.

From the Blues perspective this would only happen IF Armstrong was able to move out one of the expensive existing LHD (ideally Krug).

IF that was even possible, I'd ask for a bit more in this package. Perhaps a 2nd or conditional 3rd in 2024 or 2025. If you weren't interested in adding a pick(s), I'd take Savoie or Kulich in place of Ostlund.

Totally different situation than the OEL-Garland trade with that Florida move. Ekblad is still an established top pairing D even if he's aging, OEL was definitely not. Lundell is on a complete other level than Garland in trade value, even if he's the more useful player right now on the Canucks. At the time, he was a very effective middle 6er, versus Lundell who has great draft pedigree, is younger than Garland was, and has much more potential overall. I think your value for the trade is pretty far off, even if Jokiharju and a first is isn't nothing.

If Tavares is getting moved that's really not a bad thought for the leaf trade. Imo smart call going after Liljegren, he's had trouble staying consistent but I look at his as a Vince Dunn type of bet. Leafs might want more but I'm not sure how Krebs has performed since joining Buffalo. Treliving would ask after Peterka first for sure.

That buffdaddy comment is legit on the blues trade, I agree with him.

Cool ideas!

Panthers absolutely decline. One the coyotes weren’t competing for a cup and two they were trying to rebuild to shed salary. I’d say jokihariju and a first is worth about ekblad maybe a second coming back to buff or a prospect but a 2nd and third is no where in the same galaxy for lundell

ekblad and lundell is a significantly better package than oel adn garland. the oel trade also included several cap dumps and some retention
