What I meant was that Ottawa has no intention of moving up in the draft. If San Jose offered them this exact trade, they might do it.

Pinto is nice but he doesn't project to be a 1st line C and at 7th, SJ could get a really good player but there's a lot of potential for things to go wrong, so I don't think they would accept. Considering that SJ has the 14th OV as well, they might as well take the easy pick at 1, and they might possibly pick up someone who is nearly as good as whoever OTT gets at 7th at 14th considering that this draft is filled with a ton of defenders.

Absolutely fair.

Pinto is projecting to be a very good 2-way second-line center who can get 65-70 points a year.
