That doesn't get you the 6OA. You have to know that, right? Couple of late 1st picks and a bottom pair defender...

Utah passes, a late first and a top 10 protected pick for a 6th overall isn't enough. Gonna have to give up one of your stud defensemen, because that's what you're asking them to pass on.

quick way for utah to lose fans.

armstrong is way too good of a gm to do anything close to this bad.

harris is worth a 3rd. maybe they will move that for him.

Utah's new owners have stated, emphatically and often, that they want to make an immediate splash, so I can't see the team trading out of the top ten. William Eklund and the #14 for #6 is conceivable, but anything else seems impossible.

You'd have to give up Matheson ,Barron, WPG's first and COL 2nd i think
That would fill the holes they need on Defense giving them 2 picks in the 23rd-62nd OA range likely 1 at the higher end and 1 at the lower end.

    Matheson makes them Competitive
Barron isnt as far off as people pretend he's just had the most Waiver Flexibility
Harris was done his Exempt Status at Christmas, Struble is done his in 13 games? Xhekaj had 90 some as did Guhle
Barron had 114 Waiver Exempt games left to start the season
His stats were on par with Guhle, Xhekaj,Struble and Harris
TBH if Kovacevic wasnt the defensive Anchor last year as Savard with Matheson has been activated a lot more offensively then years past.
Then i think Kovacevic woulda been moved out to make room for Barron but the 6'5 Kovacevic was the only thing keeping MTL games to 1 goal most nights but i digress.
Barron certainly has the highest upside on PP of anyone but Matheson and Hutson in our system lets not forget. He's a guy defined by PP minutes like Matheson was for years.
It wasnt until MTL gave Matheson 6 more minutes on average that his game grew leaps and bounds. Which is what you'll likely see from Barron the next 3 seasons just the same before rising up.

WPG pick can net you a Cole Hutson at worst and a Liam Greentree at best.
COL pick can grab them a Project player likely a Goalie

It fixes ARZ/Utah's immediate issues on the Blue Line
While adding a 4th pick in the 2nd round this year
They trade down lets say 17 spots but the cost of trading up for 20-32nd overall picks wont be that high by comparison

The best winnipegs pick can end up is 26th, so they're trading down 20 spots.

G6 unrestricted free agents are players with expiring contracts that haven’t reached minimum appearances.

They are different from restricted free agents that are not given qualified offers.

Both become UFA in the end, but different paths getting there.
