TBL offseason moves

Created by: JTBF81
Team: 2024-25 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: May 4, 2024
Published: May 4, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Using the Tampa/L.A. trade from a couple of other threads. Tampa clears enough space by moving Cirelli and the lower cost contracts to greatly improve on defense and still add a solid middle/top 6 F in Moore. They also have enough space to sign a solid 3rd line player in Lafferty as well. If they don't want to run Stamkos at 2C, they could also trade Herr for a C like Dowd or promote/find another in ufa if a trade couldn't work. Losing Cirelli is a blow, but the team improves at a much needed spot by trading from a position where they do have some depth.

If the Devils miss on Trenin, I'd be interested in kicking the tires on Jeannot

So that LA trade does work cap wise. This is still a good lineup. Solid top 6. 3rd line could be sneaky good. Improved blue line.

TBL didn’t trade 78 picks for Jeannot just to trade him for a 4th and 5th. Management will stick it out and see him through, out of principle.

If they want to improve the team, they will move him for what they can get. Not every big swing connects, and sometimes, for the good of the team, you take the L and move forward. There are different roster moves and configurations that can improve Tampa for next year, but none of them include Jeannot.

if TB is moving him to "improve" the roster, what makes you think other teams are just going to come in and give you picks for him?
Do you really think the penguins are rushing in to take a guy who's done nothing in 2 years?
The only thing I see here is a player who blocks the path to the penguins actually using their prospects who are probably more capable of generating offense for the penguins.
You might want to try a team like SJS who needs forwards. The penguins have very few open roster spots coming into the season. What they need to fill those spots isn't a guy who generates 7 goals a year.

Any other thread in which Los Angeles trades Trevor Moore is idiotic, so you shouldn't be basing your ACGMs on them.

As I mentioned, it doesn't have to be the Pens, ans for one year left, Tampa will be able to get a small return. Change of scenery moves aren't uncommon. Tampa does improve overall because they need the cap space, not because Jeannot is necessarily worthless. They won't be paying to move him.

In your opinion, cool. Others think differently, but thanks for the informative reply!

No Los Angeles supporter has the slightest support for a Trevor Moore trade. Those are the opinions that matter. It's like people who post ACGMs trading Brayden Point -- they won't be Tampa fans, so why listen to them?

You speak for all L.A. fans do you? The fact remains that some saw a trade for Moore for Cirelli as plausible. If Roy isn't re-signing then Tampa would be interested in hos signing rights, and Kaliyev isn't needed if that's an issue or Tampa can toss a small piece.

Yeah, I'll go out on a limb and say that I do. Cite me a true Kings fan who would trade Trevor Moore in a legitimately realistic trade. I'll wait.

Yeah, and if Kaliyev isn't in Tampa's plans or not involved, Tampa can give Goncalves a shot at 3LW or go out and spend the 1.5 on a ufa.
