Hawks easily decline. They aren't paying anything for Lee, even w/ retention. And that offer for Reinhart likely gets beat too.

Lee is about to be 34 and carries a 7 million per year cap hit for 2 years coming off a 37 point season (where he was getting sniffing 2 min a game pp). He may not be pure cap dump (where he is completely useless), but he is also not a 5.5 million a year player which with the rentetion in the proposal portrays him as when the Hawks give the better pick. You would be lucky to have the Hawks consider taking him with a 2nd even with this retention (as he is likely a two 2nds....1 for each year remaining...negative at this point). Put it a different way, do you think if Lee were a free agent anyone is giving him 5.5 for one season much less 2?
